How do you actually get through a 32 hour shift without any rest ???

I've worked 38 hours before at one time... And coming into the 20 hour or so...
I got very drowsy... Only a good pot of Java kept me alert... And WIRED.

If we were balls out for the whole thing, it would be a nightmare.

Thankfully, the first 16 was blessedly quite. I did one call and slept hardily for the rest of the night.

So far today on my second 16, we've done 3.5 calls and I've napped a bit.

If we we're busy, it would be totally unreasonable in every way; but the first sixteen was on a slow 911 truck. I knew that, barring an unforeseen catastrophe, I'd have a quite night.

Six more hours to go. I think I'm in a make it...
