Know what's weird?

Went to walmart today to get some .22 ammo. Buying the eleven 50 rd boxes of federal .22lr is cheaper than buying a 550rd brick... Thought you was supposed to save money buying in bulk?

Larger boxes do not always mean lower price. It's a marketing ploy. Lok at other things in the store, just about all manufactureres do it.

Just yesterday I needed baking soda and stopped at the store. A 1 lb box is .99 and a 2 lb box is 2.29
I would save .58 cents by buying two of the 1 lb boxes rather tha one of the larger 2 lb box.

    58 cents? .99 + .99 = 1.98. 2.29-1.98= .31.

Btw, I saved $3 from getting the ammo in smaller boxes

it depends on the product. i had this discussion with a coworker the other day in regards to beer.

we sell bud light in the following sizes/quantities

    single 12oz-1.25(10.4c/oz)
    single 16oz-1.50(9.3c/oz)
    single 40oz-2.95(7.3c/oz)

    12pk 12oz- 12.49(8.6c/oz)
    18pk 12oz- 16.49(7.6c/oz)
    20pk 12oz- 18.99(7.9c/oz)
    30pk 12oz- 25.49(7.1c/oz)
    36pk 12oz- 27.99(6.5c/oz)

prices are the same for most of the beers in that catagory(bud, coors etc). i dont have the figures for kegs, the only size container we sell i dont know the price of.

clearly in terms of crappy lawn mower beer, the larger the quantity at a time the cheaper it gets.
