45 Hollow point is worthless if it hits something like a leather jacket it will just fill up and explode and not hurt the guy wearing the jacket.. You have to buy the type with a insert in the hollow part to keep it from expanding too much.

This is what one guy took from his concealed class he took . Just glad I did not take the class cause I would have failed after calling the instructor out.

I am in the process of designing a custom firearm and I am confused on what caliber to use. The options are either a .22lr or .25acp My own conclusion is that the .25 is garbage but would be a much easier application being centerfire. Is the .25 a useless round or should I redesign for the 22.lr? Pics will be posted of the completed product.

If a guy raised the American flag upside down with a Nazi flag over the top of it on a flag pole outside his house, what would be your reaction to it????[;)]

What is the reason to build this gun? Is it to be a "gut gun" or a plinker etc?

you customizing a pistol or rifle ? how longs the barrel. if building from an existing frame or receiver, which model?
the .25 is a fun little round but i like the older vest pocket colts and baby brownings so i may be bias.
the .22 is cheaper to feed and more popular .

It might help us to know what type of firearm you are planning on building? If you are building a semi automatic handgun you will discover the same thing that designers did nearly 100 years ago; the semi rimmed .25ACP feed much better and more reliably in automatics (the .25 was designed for that specific purpose) than the rimmed .22LR (intended for revolvers) and is one reason that many folks won't accept any pocket auto in .22 intended for self defense.

It would be a single shot used for personal defense. I had a thought and want to make it a reality. It is made from an everyday product. The old timer across the street used to be a head machinest for Grumman so I drew it up on CAD and he is helping me with the lathe work. Since 99.3% of you forgot more than I know about firearms I just wanted opinions on a 22lr or 25 caliber if needed in a close confrontation. I know I would want my .45 [:D]
