There was this man, who was a heavy drinker, He came home one night drunker than all get out, He was hungry, so went to the Fridge to find something to eat.

In the fridge was a bowl of meat, so he took it out and ate it all.

The next morning, he told his wife, that was some pretty good meat in the fridge, I ate it all.

His wife became a little shaken, exclaming "That was a Bowl of dog food" I had better call the doctor.

She called the doctor and he assured her, that nothing was wrong with it, and it wouldnt hurt her husband.

Two days later , very upset, she called the doctor, and ask him why he lied to her.

Doctor ask her what she meant, she said , "Well that dog food Killed my husband.

Doctor was shocked, he said it should not have had any adverse affects on humans", and what Happened?

The wife said, well it killed him, He went out in the street laid down and was licking his Butt when that car Hit him.

I finally got a dog and have been feeding Diamond Adult. Looking at various brands ingredients and feeding rates. I still have no clue as to why other brands cost more.

They all use almost exactly the same stuff; yet claim to somehow be better. Superior grains what's that supposed to mean.

The farm store carries various brands of dog food, but the rest are similar to diamond and cost quite a bit more.

    What is everyone else using?

Anyone here make their own dog food? Have been doing some research on dog food sold commercially and the info I've been reading doesn't put it in a good light.

I need some advice on what is a good dog food for putting weight on a older dog. I keep my dogs food bowl full and she won't keep a good weight. She always a bit on the skinny side. I used to feed my Brittany Diamond dog food and it worked great, but I can't find any around where I live.

I use Natures Select, they drop it off at the door, see if you have a dealer near you on thier website. The best thing I have ever done for my dogs, My dog (Scout) has seizures also, seems to be brought on by weather changes (cold wet), he has had one seizure that I know of in the last 6 months. Its really been good stuff, and he has lost weight which is good for him as he is 11. Never have heard of Blue Buffalo, but will look it up.

We feed Purina Pro Plan here and are happy with it. The only thing I've heard bad about Blue Buffalo, I think they were part of the dog food recall a few years back. I have never heard about it being good for seizures, that is a new one to me. I think I would be having the bloodwork ran and get him on meds.

I feed my dog Blue Buffalo. She has allergies with other foods, especially those with a large amount of corn/wheat, but does extremely well with Blue Buffalo Basics. Its a bit more expensive but its worth it, not to mention, she loves it. The only other food that we've tried that she can eat without having allergic reactions is Eukanuba Naturally Wild. We fed her that until there was a recall on it a couple of years ago, ever since though, its been Blue Buffalo.

I feed my dogs the best food I can afford and Blue Buffalo seems
to be what they like most of the premium dog foods.

Try to stay away from dog food with fillers, especially corn.
Dogs can't digest it and turns them into a poop factory.

Read the labels and the order that ingredients are listed.

Do your self a favor and check out Chicken Soup For The Dog Lover's Soul (the food not the book).

Its about the most reasonably priced dog food made with high quality ingredients. around here its cheaper than blue buffalo, and similar in quality/ingredients.

My girl switched from cheap walmart dog food to the Chicken soup when I startred feeding it to my puppy, and nobody can believe the difference in his coat, energy, etc.

Her dog also eats less than he used to cause the food is not all fillers, therefore it's a little cheaper to actually feed the good stuff!

Most pet supply stores should carry the Chicken Soup brand if they carry Blue Buffalo.

vet told us to use it on our dog to get rid of allergies, she loved kibbles and bits, but the red dye in the food made her itch, she constantly was chewing on her butt, and would run up and down the side of the couch, within two weeks of the food change, also quit giving her treats, she was fine. It is a good bit more expensive but it does work for our dog anyway....

Mind if I ask what symptoms your dog exhibited?
My boy Leonard suffers from allergy induced ear discharge which brings on infection. Part of it is food related and some environmental.
