Is the wood in the wrist straight enough

    I would'nt be afraid of that piece. Looks like just one side where the wood turns down a little far. The other side is good. Should make a nice stock.

    I wouldn't trust it. To much devided wood in the wrist of a Red Label.

    would it be possible to drill from the receiver end, and tap in about a 6" dowel making that area stronger like rebar

    Possible and recommended. If not, I don't think I'd use that blank.

    I wouldn't recomend that even.
    The dowel would need to be large enough to receive recoil from the full receiver surface.
