Surgery question

Iam going in this Fri for sinus surgery. The usual roto-rooter proceedure. Not looking forward to it.

Anyone had this done, and did it help? How about recovery time, discomfort level etc ??

Hopefully I will be put at ease by your responses.

Not to scare you off but.........When I woke up from mine it felt like I'd been kicked in the face by a heavy steel toe'd boot then slammed in the back of the head by a 2by4. Other than that and not being able to breathe through my nose for the first 2 days I was fine. Those Vicodens are just great.

Ghotie has it right. But I never did get to breathing through my nose right. And after 10 tears I still don't breath through my nose very well.
One word of advise is keep some of the nasil saline solution on hand. It can be bought at any pharmacy over the counter. after all the gauze is removed spray some into your nose about every 2 hours or so or as needed to keep the dry feeling away. It will feel like very dried bogers in your nose if you don't.

Hey guys...Iam back.......and thanks for the imput. Well, Iam now 7 days post op. saw the doc yesterday to get the stints taken out...... WOW, what a relief that was.

It was pretty much as you guys said. Last sat- sun- mon and tues were pure hell. I had reactions to the meds and had to stop taking them.

Iam still in some pain due to the doc also fixing my deviated septum, but Iam feeling much better than 5 days ago. It will likely be another 2 weeks until I get back to 100%.

    Thanks again......... Joe

Sinus surgery is "iffy" at most. Generally most people will revert back to the same old problems with their snoot that they had before surgery.

My sister had the surgery, a friend at work had it TWICE-IIRC, and a cousin had it done YEARS ago, none of them benefitted in the long run[:(] Wish I had seen the original post, I would've 'prolly tried to talk you out of it! Best wishes-although VERY pessimistic-for a complete and healthful recovery![:)]
