Experience with Glock laser sites?

I want to get some laser sites for my glock to just help with accuracy at the range, but I can't justify spending the $300 on the internal ones for something I really don't need.
Has anyone tried the cheaper sites (the ones that attatch to the trigger guard) some are as cheap as $20, and even if they aren't as accurate or won't last as long, I just want it to try it out at the range, but I want to know if they are just a waste or not.

The cheapies are fun toys (more for pellet gun plinking), but they can be difficult to see outdoors in bright light and don't retain their zero very well.

I certainly would not rely on one of these in any kind of life or death situation.

I have a Glock with a laser. The laser cost between $60-80. Everything BTS said is correct. But remember, they're easy to sight in as long as your iron sights are zeroed.

Thanks, I really only want it for plinking so I'm not worried about it being unreliable in a life or death situation.

Tried em and liked them, but I have a problem spending the $300.00 for em.

My advice is learn to shoot well with open sights first before you even consider a laser. As far as purchaseing one I would buy the good ones that work as your guide rod. This way you dont have to worry about it not fitting in a Holster. But as a Firearms Instructor I recommend you become skillful with open sights.Good Luck!!

I know your asking about Glock, But I do have an internal on a sig 229. I found it lacking in bright exterior light( impossable to spot) I have seen at gun shows some glasses that will intensify the light but you probaly would never wear them normaly.... As for training at a inside range, It will really show you if you are pulling or pushing on a trigger when firing, I do remember that. But I would not spend very much on one, other than turning the laser on every few months to keep the tube active , I can not tell you the last time I used it at a range (years) Dont spend too much , it might be better to spend it on ammo...
