A NOLA Houston Comparison

Has anyone noticed the difference between Hurricane Katrina in NOLA and Hurricane Harvey in Houston?

The people in Houston, especially the cops, aren't looting Cadillacs or TV's. I haven't heard of any gun confiscation or wholesale raping. There are no stories of flood victims throwing Subway sandwiches back into the faces of relief volunteers all the while screaming they want McDonalds.

No one is crapping on the floor in their emergency lodgings of stealing from others in the same lodgings. Dead bodies aren't laying about unattended while people walk by them. No secret hunter/killer groups are having to assassinate gang members in Houston.

It's 347 miles from NOLA to Houston. In reality the distance is from the Stone Age to the Space Age.

The rest of the people on the Gulf are noticing this if but subconsciously. NOLA better get a disaster plan drawn up and implemented because a lot of people that helped during Katrina got a bad taste in their mouth from it. The experience thus far with Houston shows people give freely when it's appreciated. Little to none when it's not. NOLA didn't appreciate it.

I think there is some of it going on, not just as widespread and reported on as much. I hope it doesn't happen but give it another few weeks and when desperation really sinks in we will see how bad it gets.......

I think the actions of both the populace and the "Authorities" in New Orleans during and after Katrina are a low water mark and would be a hard act to beat.

The Mayor of Houston, though he is a libtard and and Democrat, seems to have some sense.

The Police are way more professional than the NO police.

My Dad lived in NO in the early 60's and he said he lived there a year before he found out the city paid the cops[;)]

Katrina was pre-online presence on mass scale. Can you imagine Katrina with facebook/instagram/instant youtube uploads?

News here in Austin had reported that 14 looters been arrested. Could get up to life in prison.

Also reported that some were luring the rescue boats closer and then shooting at them.

As far as the refugees that have relocated Austin, haven't heard yet if the same thing is happening when the Katrina refugees moved here. Authorities were asking for volunteers to help with serving food and other duties. Guess what, all the refugees were sitting around doing nothing.

If there are locations where looting is taking place, and no doubt it is happening somewhere, the situation, dire as it is, does present a prime opportunity for some "rodent removal."

Ashley(wife), showed me a video taken by a girl she went to high school with. There was mass looting taking place in her apartment complex and nobody was shooting them.

Yeah, looting can be a lot of fun until you run into a homeowner or business owner that thinks otherwise. Then, hopefully, you end up floating on that flood.

Your post reminds me of a video I saw during Katrina from the Superdome. The reporter was interviewing a Pavement Dweller who was bitching that the gubmint had brought in pallets of water and MREs...and 'der be nobody to hand dem out to nobody. We all had to go get our own water and food.'

It was remarkable that any human could simultaneously be so entitled, and useless. Lower Life Forms.

New Orleans is a leftist cesspool, they learned nothing from Katrina. Here we are on September 1, prime time hurricane season, and 16 of their pumping stations are inoperable. I'd like to know who got the 1.whatever billion dollars they got after Katrina to overhaul the things.

They found a few million bucks to remove those century old monuments though. I made a comment on fartbook about this and some hag from N.O. said "thanks for making this an either or issue!!!".
