XD COMPACT QUESTION

I have one of the Springfield XD packages 9mm compact. I am having trouble clearing the holster that came with the package. I pull up and the gun won't release. I have tried adjusting the holster and it will release with little tension on the screw, but it feels very loose in the holster. Are there any suggestions or are the supplied holsters not very good by design. Thanks

I don't think they actually designed them to not be very good.[:D]

But there is a trick to them.

I have found (you may find differently) that it is less of a "draw" and much more of a "snatch" motion.

Clear your pistol, put on a stout belt, and try the "snatch".

Its an inertia thing, but you can get the hang of it.

There are better holsters for sure. If you get used to it and like it, its better than jaming it in your belt.

I bought a Blackhawk Serpa holster for mine with the button release. Much easier than the factory one.

I have one of those for my XD40SC, and also a Fobus. I have to give it a yank to draw it from either holster. Just pulling it out usually won't get the job done.

I also have another Fobus for my Kel-Tec P-11, and it's the same way, you have to yank it out. [:D]

There isn't much to the little XD Gear holster.
