Anybody use this sight? WTH is a bid package? Are you putting money in an account for them to hold so you can bid on items ?

You at least I did got 10 free bids.
The bidding process goes up in 1 cent
    increments.
you have to buy bids and me thinks they
make a bundle off a gun, selling thousands
of bids.Same as quik bids I suspect

I don't get it. If 100 guys are bidding in one cent increments whos account drives up the cost (and is charged the per bid fee)
If I bid 500 dollars on the SCAR or wait, can I bid 500 on the scar?
I am tempted to sign up to see how it works but I think the something for nothing warning appies in this instance

    you can't bid $500 ,
    I tried ,bid increments are
    1 cent (see post above)and
one has to buy a qty of bids.
One bid contest went on for days.
I don't know what the final bid was
caused I used up my 10 free bids.

penny auction work like this basically....

you buy bids, say 100 bids for 10$ (just to keep things simple)

each bid on an item raises it by 1 cent.

when the bidding is done the winner with the last bid gets the item for a very cheap price.

the catch is everyone that bid loses thier money because if you don't win, you still paid to bid on the item, and you don't get that back.

so if I bid on an item 100 times then I've only raised the price of the item by $1.00, but if I don't win the auction, then i just lost $10 as well.

does it keep bidding til you run out of bids, like do you buy bids for one item at a time or do you have to sit there for hours on end adding pennies til you win or run out of bids. If you run out can you buy more? is it a game of chicken to get that bid in before time runs out?
I just have to try it, brew a pot of coffee, start early in the AM and see what happens.
If you wanted to try to win a perticular thing so you bought 500 worth of bids but didn't win cuz you fell asleep or screwed up could you get the 250 that wasn't spent back?
    this is way to difficult!!

I think capt fun is letting this run to see if we like the idea. If we did, they might have another way to sell stuff...I VOTE NO...because there would be alot of losing bidders who felt ripped off especially after discovering that bid packages are not refundable. Once they have your money you never get it back.
Another thing is, they are the sellers. You cannot list anything for sale there (as if you would) there is no way to assure they don't have their own shill bidder to guarantee they don't lose money.
I looked at some completed auctions were I discovered a Taurus judge that went for 9.78.
Since bids are somewhere between 68 cents and a dollar a piece, the eventual price of this gun was, at worst 489 dollars plus the 9.78 winning bid.
It could be much better if there are 20 bidders or if you bought a big package and your bids were only 68 cents each.
You are allowed to dedicate a certain amount to the auction thru a bid butler program so you don't have to make every bid yourself.
The thing that would suck is to lose once you got into it.
As you can see, the site gets their money back and only the winning bidder is happy.

You buy your bids, so every time you bid it costs you something win or lose. The bidding has a time limit, when that expires it has a 30 second rule, every bid resets the 30 seconds. You pay money with an outstanding possibility of winning nothing, no thanks.
