Life Among the Liberals of Manhatten

As most of y'all know, I live on a mountain in the NC wilderness.
Have 4 neighbors on my mountain, the closest one is 1/2 mile away.

One of these neighbors is a couple from Manhatten. They have a "brownstone" house there that "Jim's" dad gave him, that house is worth $1.4 million.
They come down to their NC cabin for a few weeks each summer, and at Christmas.

I am not going to identify anyone, but "Jim's" father is a famous actor, and his mom once won an Oscar. Jim is an actor in New York but he kind of fat and goofy looking, doesn't get much work, basically lives on Daddy's money and unemployment.

"Linda" has a Master's degree in English Literature and she is a Poetry professor at a university up there in New York.

Anyway, a pair of Yankee libs who live in Manhatten. They are nice people and I like them, have been to some great parties at their house. Jim likes good bourbon as much as I do!
So they had a daughter 14 years ago. Cute little girl, used to look like a normal little girl.
Three years ago, at age 11, all of a sudden the girl decided she was a boy. Her parents approved and encouraged her.

I just saw the former daughter, now a son, at a party last week.
He/she has a butch haircut, wears flannel shirts and blue jeans and boots. He/she has had a "steady girlfriend" for over 2 years. A girl who is a girl is the girlfriend of him/her.

This poor confused kid is real weird to be around. I can't help but think that if the parents had not encouraged this change of gender that she might still be a girl.

But, you know that in that environment in New York, among a bunch of actors and college professors, every one is a radical lib, the ones that didn't vote for Hillary voted for Bernie.

Among this crowd, I am sure that my neighbors get 5 gold stars for having a "transgender" child. Sad situation.

It is amazing that modern medicine can attach a hang down to where one never existed but can't find a cure for cancer.

It used to be a considered a mental disorder DEMOCRATs in main stream media as well as their counterparts in television and Hollywood have not only promoted such behavior, but glamourized it.

Certainly BallPark Frank envy has been a stage of life many young girls go thru, but is short lived. Having parents encourage such behavior is what I find disgusting.

It is not a disorder but a perversion.

Rush Limbaugh came up with the "addadicktome" term, I believe.

Allen, ask that couple how their PIG is. When they look confused, explain that it stands for Person of Indeterminate Gender. Or perhaps in this case, Person of Intermediate Gender...
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

I am sure its a lot of fun to have such a diverse crowd within such a small community. Some of Larry's college friends are polar opposites to me, but I still get along with them.

The only part of your story that really bothers me is that Jim is receiving unemployment. It doesn't matter whether he is married to Linda or not, if they live together, her income counts for him, too. That would be considered stealing, if he doesn't report it.

Maybe the parents didn't help their child, who suffers from gender identity disorder, but there's nothing that they did, or did not do, that affects how the child's brain is wired. Love, education, or prayer can do nothing to change a brain. You just have to accept the way things are, or drive the person away.

We had family friends in Cape Cod that live in Manhattan most of the year. The dad, was an Episcopalian Priest. They are uber libtards. They live in a nice Brownstone in Manhattan, they have a nice cottage in Cape Cod likely worth $600,000. They talk about the poor this, and that blah blah blah. As soon as you challenge their liberalism with the fact that they own two homes, one of which stays vacant 10 months of the year they go full meltdown on how they help the poor. It was rather fun to watch my dad get them twisted in a debate. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

The liberal agenda has confused many a poor child. Left wing parents add to the problems.

I tend to agree the a lot of this gender identity thing is an attempt to gain acceptance or attention. Wait 20 years and see how many start to switch back.
I have to wonder how does one transform from female.to male ( with surgery ) and have function, if you know what I mean. Would kind of put a damper on potential girlfriends.
