F-4 vs. Concrete Wall

Take a look at this clip and you'll get a good feel for what
happens to an airplane when it hits a concrete wall. Many
of you have seen the produced (but not factual), Michael
Moore-esque website that asks the question; "If it's true
that a Boeing airliner hit the Pentagon, what happened to
all the parts of it? Why do we not find more pieces of it?
Where did all that mass GO???" (Therefore, the paranoid
loony liberal reasoning, 9-11 must have been a US gov't
conspiracy!) Well, for those who question what happened
to "all the mass of that airplane".......watch this clip.

It's the old Air Force engineering tests of the concrete
barrier that surrounds nuclear reactor domes --tests to
see if it will indeed survive an aerial attack. With the
hi-speed cameras rolling, they accelerated an F-4 Phantom
to 500mph and.........

"What happens when an 'Unstoppable Force' meets
an 'Immovable Object'???" (Remember, as you watch in
slow motion as the F-4 turns to vapor, the Phantom was
one of the toughest airplanes ever built).

That test was run back at Scandia National Laboratories in late 1992 or early 1993. I've heard a number of ways that this test ties into arguments (yes and no) over the widebody jet which struck the Pentagon. From an engineering standpoint these two events have very little in common since the test F4 was launched at 480 mph into a re-enforced concrete block 10 feet thick and the Pentagon is no where near that sturdy.

I would like to see a pic of the wall after all the dusts settles. Looks like the wings cut clean through it, or either sheared off and went by on the outside.

The wings were sheard off since the wing span of the F4 was wider than the concrete block.

Oh yes, quite a crowd pleaser.

Evere wonder why the shopping malls always insisted on having their own Santa Clause greet the kids on a Santa jump?[:o)]

Watched 'Gypsy Moths' this weekend. Great movie, except the part where Burt Lancaster goes in.....
