I noticed that, and also he seems to be on a city street "brandishing",........maybe I am missing the circumstances?

I don't care either way, but depending where he is, a good way to end up losing your CCW, or worse.

The picture was taken in Hollywood (I believe due to the ABC banner in the background) and it is a toy gun from the movie charector that he is poseing with.[;)]

Or worse... lol. I've often wondered how these American tattoo artists really know what the Chinese markings mean. It looks 'cool,' the meaning sounds 'cool,' so it must mean what they say it does??

    Cool Tat!

    And practical, too!

Anytime he needs to order "Beef with Broccoli" in a Chinese restaurant, all he has to do is show them his shoulder!

That type of tat would not be my first choice by any means but he is the one who is wearing it.

He knew my stand point on them before getting it (I have 3 tats myself). I told him to get something that he will not regret later in life and to make sure it was in a spot that it could easily be covered up when he is doing something that it may not be appropriate for tats to be displayed.

All 3 of mine can easily be covered with a short sleeved shirt and even though some may not like them all of mine have special meaning to me.

I have always wondered why do Americans get Tatoos in Chinese?

If he wanted a tatoo that said "Ttue Warrior" why didn't he get it tatooed in English?

I figured since he joined the marines that he might get a bulldog or something.

But you are right I do not understand getting something that nobody will understand.

He can change the meaning to fit any circumstance.
When chatting with a blonde chik and she asks him what it means he can tell her it means "Blonde Chicks Rule"

I know exactly what you mean.
The other day I bent over and was startled at the sound of an old man grunt. I straightened up and looked around for the old man, but didnt see any.
I bent over a second time and I heard it again.
    Strangest thing[:0]

My oldest asked about getting a tattoo a while back....I said no, but I really don't care either way when a person is old enough to have them and is NOT spending money unwisely to get them. If you can hold a job, pay your bills and take care of yourself.....have at it.

He looks like he is having fun. That is the very best age.

My point was- the total idiocy of the term "brandishing" and any type of BS penalty for a BS term. Brandishing is no more than a liberal reason to limit firearm ownership. I guess open carry is not legal in Florida then?

    Step-son in the Marines. *sigh*

Well, it's better than him becoming a crack-head, I guess.

The furren language tattoo makes you so much cooler, because then you have a mysterious secret message that only a priveleged few understand. I saw a supposed factual excerpt from a forum where one member told another what characters to get for their tat that meant honor, courage, bravery, etc. The reply said to make sure and get a pic and post it so we can see it.

Another member went to an online translator and the straight translation actually read: Good Foriegn Head. Probably meant the bearer was intelligent, huh?

Looks like Holly-weird Blvd., is he doing the tourist thing?

    Yes,.....you are correct.
They tried it for a brief period in the early 80's.
I think it lasted for a few months.

Actually Florida is a very gun friendly state,..........so far.
We are being taken over by folks from New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan,.....etc.

I am not even speaking about South Florida, which is Cuba2.
I may have been under the false impression that even in "open carry" states, that displaying a gun on the street was considered "brandishing" per se.

Anyway,....sorry for the incorrect conclusion, and if you knew me, you would know that I am not in favor of ANY of these BS unconstitutional laws.

When I mentined trigger finger, I figured it was a prop gun due to the surroundings but I guess I just expect an adult to keep their finger off the trigger whether it is a toy, prop, or real gun.
    Especially with military training.

heres a bit of useless trivia for you all.
at least up until 12 months or so ago, if you wanted to join the army here and had a tattoo you would be rejected!...and if you were enlisted and wanted one you were suposed to get permission from your c.o....i think i remember reading something about it being dropped though so that more people could be recruited..stupid law anyway...when i enlisted i just assumed they asked the question about tatts so that if there wasn`t much left of you after [xx(] that it would help in identifiying who you were...guess i was wrong!

i have no idea if it was the same for wanting to join the navy or airforce...i do know that i have never seen a sailor without one though, so maybe it is/was different rules for them.
