I sold my 4-wheeler to a guy that I worked with. He gave me some money down and we agreed that he would pay X amount every month until the balance was satisfied. Well, niether one of us work there anymore and he has quit making payments. I am in the process of trying to find out where he is but am not having much luck.
I still have the title to the bike. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to find this guy or what I should do?
There is no need to post and tell me how foolish I was to make this deal, as I already know that.
Please help,
Cody

I have reached a point where my back injury will not allow me to shoot my full size 1911 in 45acp without experiencing a considerable amount of pain. I have gotten to the point where I am anticipating the recoil thus causing me to flinch. A friend of mine saw what was happening & brought over his 1911 in 38 Super for me to try, I shot almost a whole box of ammo thru it & was surprised at how comfortable it was to shoot. Even though the bullet was moving faster than a 45, the felt recoil was greatly reduced. I was impressed enough that I have decided to switch over to the 38 Super,
I have to say here that I am a big fan of the 1911 style of handgun & the big bore caliber. However, there comes a point where one has to be practable. Thus, I want the 38 Super to be a 1911 & there lies the problem. Living on a fixed disability income means that I don't have a lot of disposible income available, I have been looking at the RIA's in 38 Super since they are in the price range I can afford. However, to be able to afford such a purchase, I would have to sell my current 1911. In doing so, I would be taking a major step backward. My current 1911 has a full length guide rod, tritium night sights, serrations on the front of the slide, has had a throat job & a bunch of other extras that the RIA doesn't have. As a result, I've been investigating the possibility of converting my 45 to a 38 Super. I have checked & I figure that the parts for the conversion would be just over $200 & I have the advantage that my next door neighbor is a registered gunsmith. As of yet, I haven't had a chance to talk with him about my idea, so I don't know about the fesability of such a project.
So, the question I would pose to all of you; Given my position, which do you think would be my better option? Are there any down sides to converting calibers that I don't know about? I realize that this might appear to be a pointless activity to some, but it is important to me. My disease is progressive & I want to continue to enjoy shooting for as long as I can,
I welcome all of your comments & Thank You in advance for your taking the time to respond.
If you can no longer shoot the 45 sell it and move on. Whats the sense of keeping it even if it has been upgraded if you are unable to shoot it. Use the money to purchase a 1911 style 38 Super. You say "My current 1911 has a full length guide rod, tritium night sights, serrations on the front of the slide, has had a throat job & a bunch of other extras that the RIA doesn't have." If you modify your current 1911 none of that is going to matter. Slide, barrel, and spring (the entire top end will have to be replaced) so all that will be changed anyway.
+1
The Super isn't a slouch in the self-defense dept. either. With JHPs you get close to .357 Mag performance in an auto. I had been thinking about what if I had to back off of my beloved big-bores, and the .357 SIG came to mind. There's several reasons why I might go to the Super instead.
Ferinstince: The SIG is losing traction in the marketplace; it's a bottle-neck so reloading would be more of a pain and the case life wouldn't be as long; I prefer the 1911 so the ability to fit into a .40 S&W platform is moot; a wee bit more magazine capacity with the Super; wider latitude for load experimentation; and last but not least, it was Mr. 1911 .45 himself Col. Cooper's second choice!
Best of luck with the rehab.
theres a search feature on this forum, activated by the search link in the upper right hand corner. the "which 1911 to buy" has been brought up, hashed out, buried, dug up and rehashed so many times so as to be nauseating. but, in the hundreds and hundreds of posts on the topic, there is a great deal of information. the past and present members have collectively owned and shot every make and model made. their opinions are well documented.
you will need a slide, barrel, recoil spring, and ejector. Also a magazine for 38super. Your neighbor will know what you will need. Convert it to super and keep the 45 parts for it also.
Well, thats what I would do. I sure like the 38 super, but I like the 45acp also.
