Will the upper assembly fit in that PRO MAG tool? If so, it's a vice block for tightening the barrel w/o torquing the upper.
more of a 3rd hand...
""ProMag's AR-15 action blocks are constructed of impact resistant glass filled nylon that will not mar the finish of your receivers. The upper receiver blocks clamps around the receiver, fits flat-top and carry handle uppers. The lower receiver block fits into the magazine well, and is retained by the magazine catch.""
top left, upper vice block.
top right, lower vice block.
one universal AR wrench.
one barrel nut wrench.
"T" thing depresses detent spring.
I also recommend one of these....
I have all but the upper vise block since I have not built an upper from scratch yet. I have several stripped uppers in the work cabinet, just looking for the right barrel for the right project!

Yep,...got one. Makes 'that task' a lot easier.
also learned to keep some extra springs [:D] it saves time looking for the ones lost misplaced / stored in the carpet and house in various locations [:I]

Just like a bolt disassembly tool for an M1 Garand: You don't have to have it to get the job done...But it sure makes life a lot easier.

Hey Capt. What sort of a booger hook looking thing is that and what do ya use it for?

I'm under the impression the "T THING" is used inside the upper to prevent you from crushing it while using the upper vise block.

This removes the delta ring so you can remove the front grips.
I have one and it made my life easier.
The end hooks in the mag well, as I remember, and the long prongs grip the delta ring.
