Which would you buy?

A Ruger semi-auto .44 carbine, or a Winchester 94? Price is essentially the same (~$10 difference between the two).

I've been looking for a brush gun, and now I can't pick which one I want.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I'm thinking about a small semi-auto for easy carry and concealment in my dress pants pocket. Today, I came across the following ALL in truly excellent physical and cosmetic condition and each with just 1 magazine:

    AMT .380 for $180

    Guardian .32ACP for $330

    Seecamp .32ACP for $450

I've heard good things - and not so good things - about each. The AMT is of course the larger and fires the .380 while the much smaller Guardian and the tiny Seecamp fire the smaller .32 round.

I always believe in asking questions of folks who are more knowledgeable about things. in this case guns, rather than just make a decision in a vacuum.

So, if you would, tell me which one you would buy and why.

    As always, much appreciated. Thanks![:)]

Russian SKS or Marlin 1895GS? SKS for $450 where someone added a scope and most likely bubba-ed the cover doing so but the seller might have a spare un-molested cover. And a Marlin for $525 with light surface rust but kind a expensive to feed?

A boat or a pair of motorcycles (one for me, one for the wife)? How come?

This isn't sound reasoning, but I'd buy the Ruger because I've kind of been interested in one, and I've already owned a couple of Winchester 94 .44's. That said, I think either one will serve you well. The Winchester will probably be more versatile, as lead bullet won't cause any problems with gas ports. Incidentally I got great accuracy with my Winchester .44's...something else just came along. I'll always have a weak spot for lever guns, they just don't fit in to my hunting applications as well as a bolt action. Still I've killed deer with 'em and love 'em. Is that enough flip flopping? The semi is ok but you only get 4 rounds and make sure you have good loads for it. The one I had woud not feed the mid range loads I did for my pistol, and never even tried my cowboy loads. The 94 is a great gun but I went with a Marlin. After shooting both I liked the Marlin better.

No, you need to change your mind between 44 and 22, just to make sure you cover the full spectrum.[:p]
