My buddy said that he sold 140k rounds of ammo at the Waukesha, WI gun show last weekend. Mostly .223 and 7.62x39 I imagine. People are stocking up!

Just went out shopping. 5.56 and 7.62x39 is really hard to find, but for some reason 30-30 started flying off the shelves. Wally world has 2 boxes and gander mt. and academy have a half dozen boxes between them. All the reg. mom and pop shops are out too. Why 30-30, that seems strange now? All the other calibers are staying in stock. Lots of 30-30s but not that many. Anybody else seeing that?

30-30 is your basic survival round and the Obamanations will be hard pressed to take away you deer guns as comrad Biden stated.

gunpaq is correct. The 30-30 has stood the test of time, a lever is reliable and 30-30s have possibly put more deers in freezers than any other round. The military even had an National Stock Number for the Winchester Model 94 up until the late 80s.

Most people do not see a lever action 30-30 as a frightening weapon, so it is not looked at hard by the antis. Up until about 2000, it was not unusual to see them hanging in pickup windows all over the south and no one flinched at all.

I have been stocking up on the rounds as well. Federals from wally world at just a touch over $10/box...up to about 200 rounds right now.

I live in TX and used to see guns up in trucks all the time. Not any more.

Not seeing anything like that around here, just the normal slug sell outs before deer season starts, plenty of everything else, least over the weekend there was.

A lot of stores here in West TX are out or almost out of 30-30. Most of the guys here use 270, 7Mag and the like...very few still use 30-30 here so I dont think it has to do with the season at least in my parts.

+1 in Central Mississippi also....Local WalMart Manager told me yesterday that they are averaging over 2500 dollars a week in total ammo up almost 400 percent from this time last year...
