I was at the gun store today and we were just talking and he asked me if i had ak s or ar s. He told me that i need to get as much as i can before the election.

What do you figure that we will need?

What ever U can afford, gun wise, and all the ammo U can beg or borrow.Might even be worth taking out a small loan.If the cash is tight right now...My .2

You need enough rifles and pistols (including 1,000 rounds of ammo per weapon) to arm your family and any neighbors that you can trust.

I would say a lot of guessing we know if hildibeast it will be anything but a pea shooter ( single shot)
pmags or hi cap mags at 12 to 20 bucks I remember 50.00 to 100.00 + if you could find one seems like a nice bet and inexpensive investment . of course any semi auto anything , and ammo its already scarce but what is out there will dry up fast with the rumors of limiting or registering to buy it .
worst case they could out law them all and make it illegal to have or own ( unlikely but then who knows )
I would not get to excited . if you run across a good / great deal go for it business as usual .

I don't know what affect the ele3ction will have, but it appears the major ammunition companies are diverting all of their production to the basic cartridges (those normally purchased by the govt) So I'd say to get any ammunition that you need for an unusual cartridge. I keep looking for Ultra Mag brass, but the last 100 that I saw went for more than $2 each (just the brass).

Buy them off the classifieds or AL, private sales if you can in your state. There are a lot of well priced ARs (PSA, DTI, Spikes) for sale on the private market. Cash and carry.

    +1000000!!!

Exactly!! I posted a Ar question here because I want to buy one with no paper trail. I knew the price the guy was asking was high, but it comes with 20 of 30 rnd pmags and almost 2600 rds of ammo.
And nobody would know I have it.[;)]

When "they" outlaw any AR's, AK's and all other "assault" rifles,
First "they" will come to GB and demand completed auction sales.
Then to the gun shops to look at the bond books vs. background checks.
Then "they" might get to the forums.

    I'll be gone by then.[:D]

That is, of course, if one believes the info on the user profile is accurate and true. [;)][;)] It might be wise for everyone to check their own and decide if what is seen there is what they really want the government to know. [;)][;)]

Already well beyond that 1000 rounds per gun per person idea. Even have some duplication on the guns. Not so much as some of those more monetarily blessed among you, but needs and some caprices are met anyway. All this happened slow and easy. By way of natural inclination to be compulsive and impulsive while also cheap. See a sale, buy a little. Don't get silly about it.

On the other hand the panic of others just annoys me. People who panic simply make life harder for those of us with greater fortitude than the sphincters of a yet to be potty trained toddler. There is an element of real cowardice in panic. Unthinking, blind, foolish and self destructive.

I've no more respect for one who panics than for any other yellow striped fool cowering in his own piss puddle.

I appreciate the reply. I need 375 RUM and while the 7mm & 300 are log enough, they require necking out from .284 & 308 to .375" and I suspect that would require some annealing or a risk of splitting. the 338 RUM would likely size to .375 without a problem, but for some reason Remington shortened the 338 case. So I'm pretty much stuck with searching for 375 RUM. Appears the most reasonable thing to do at this point is find stores that have loaded ammunition.

Thanks again, I find the people on Gun Broker to be very helpful and what used to be called "civic minded".[:)][:)]
