It's All Demographics

It may appear that the government and other service and entertainment industries have decided to jettison several longstanding traditions in favor of what some refer to as politically correct decisions.

Actually they are being quite consistent. Those decision makers were choosing the answer that agreed with what they saw as the majority of their products consumers. What's happening is those of us that have traditional values are becoming fewer, resulting in less consumption of those products; An increase in the population of those with non-traditional values results in their having a larger market-share.

So what appears to be change on the part of government and show-business is merely a reflection of what is perceived as the change in demographics.

As they used to say "Life's a _itch and then you die."

Read the posting on treatment of Vets. the military is seen by the younger generations as unnecessary and counter-productive. Those that have served are seen as disposable- as the president said- they volunteered so they aren't entitled to anything.

Ambition is what drove some people to do things that made life better for all, but now ambition is being taxed into non-existence because the increasing population favors everyone benefiting at the expense of those with ambition.

those that have achieved wealth, particularly when they see themselves as "lucky" such as most entertainers appear to have feelings of guilt and as such support "progressive change" that is thought to help those more numerous but less lucky.

On further review it appears Obama isn't quoted as saying such, but then it's like the rest of his administration- they take the lead from the leader.

If you prefer, consider hunting- with the urbanization of the constituency, hunting is viewed through a Walt Disney prism. decisions are made with the idea of how many will vote one way or another, not what is right or not.
