Dump the .30-06 you can do the same thing with .308 Win.
Add .358 Win
Are you sure you don't have that backwards....its simple physics...30-06 can do everything 308 can and more...you will never be able to add case capacity to the 308...thats why 30-06 is still so popular after more than 60 years of 308 being on the block, because 30-06 has been doing the job for over a century!
30-06...what every 308 wants to be when it grows up.[;)][}:)]
You and mrmike08075 sound like two 12 year old's who's grandpas took them out deer hunting for the first time and let them use their .30-06 rifles.
Yes the .30-06 is a great round but its still .30 cal .308" the same as the .308 win. You may get it to run a little faster with the same bullet but not enough to make any difference in the real world.
Use the same bullet, hit the same spot and no man or animal will ever know the difference.Load a 200 or 220 grain bullet and guess what its still a .308" bullet not a .338".
Bottom line the .30-06 is a fine cartridge but its not the be all end all and neither is the .308 Win. They like dozens of others work well when you put the right bullet in the right place.
Real men instinctively recognize the inherent superiority of the .30-06 Springfield cartridge over the diminutive .308 with its diminished powder capacity and smaller performance envelope...

But they're truly awed by the sleekness and sheer long range capability of the 300 Winchester Magnum; the round for ALL seasons!

Off with the 35 Rem. It's obsolete with no real purpose anymore.
Add the 300 Win mag. This one is what I consider to be the most powerful round that the "average Joe" should consider for hunting use.
+1
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

Gary, How could you? The .257? Oh well, you're still all wool and a yard wide.
I'd bump the 30-30 and add the Hornet.
