Missouri trip again this summer

We went down there last year for a wedding and spent most of our time with that. We are going back down this summer to visit our same friends who got married and meeting the in-laws in Branson. We should have quite a bit of time to actually do some stuff in the area.

The wife thinks I'm crazy, but I just got off the phone with Sierra Bullet and Starline Brass companies. I was trying to get information on order pick-ups and lined up a tour of each place. [8D] I suppose I will have to visit Grafs Reloading Supercenter again too.

Any of you guys close to Jefferson City, Branson, Sedalia, or in between?

Jon

Don't forget to stop off in Ferguson for some free stuff. Just get you a can of Shinola and do a little looting. The cops won't even arrest you there as long as you look black.

Jon, see if you can take pictures of the plant tour. Sounds great. If the wife doesn't want to go. I will. I will warn you though, I snore...LOUD.LOL

Been to Missouri once on a hunting trip. Place was called Bethel, In the northwest corner of the state. There is one in the southeast part of the state too. Weird. I found out the hard way by going there first[B)] Best damn hunting trip in my life and the people were outstanding. I long to go back there and hunt again. Oakie

    Oakie,

The wife says come along and we can drop her off at the friend's house and do the tours ourselves. [:D]

On your way to Brandon you need to stop at Lambert's cafe just south of Springfield

    FWIW
I-70 is rougher than a cob St. Louis to Columbia. You might like hitting Graf's via US Hwy 36 and Hwy 15. Hwy 54 Mexico to Jeff City to Camdenton is excellent. Hwy 50 Jeff to Sedalia is reportedly good but I haven't run it for a long time. If you have time the mall at Osage Beach is a good side trip-be sure to visit the knife emporium in the mall. Anytime you get south of I-70 in the summer-expect to find lots of RV and boat trailer traffic.

I agree with cavman - the gun museum in there is absolutely amazing.

And Lamberts is the one eating place around there that should be on everyone's must-eat-at list. Their pork steak is absolutely great. White beans, okra, mashed potatoes, rolls w/honey....dang, I think I just put on 3 pounds thinking about it.

And during the summer, if you get there around noon you might be waiting an hour or longer to get a table. Best to get there around 2 or so if you don't want to wait. We would generally do the continental breakfast at the motel, eat around 1:30 or 2:00 and then do a snack in the evening.

Ahh, Lambert's, home of the throwed rolls. Great place to eat, unless you're on a diet. As long as you're in Ozark, on Wednesday nights they have the farmers market. Go hungry, there is all sorts of great food, live music, etc. It's a good time.
