Having never owned what is the best way to tell the manufacturer on them. I found what I think to be a good deal on one but I am not sure what it is worth and would like to look into it more. It is new and unfired. Seems to have a longer barrel than most and has a tapco trigger.

you tube can be your friend countless how to and test runs on just about any thing . the AK should have a name or company stamped some where unless some one made it up out of a "kit" blank receiver then it would have no serial number and not be allow to be sold .
    that will get you started
I have owned a few all did what they suppose to do spray 7.62 down range the milled receivers are more desirable

milled receivers may be a little more accurate at 100's of yards. you won't notice a difference. stamped receivers dissipate heat much better.

AK barrel length is 16" if it is any longer, it will be definitely longer, and probably a sporterized RPK which is rare. it probably has a 16" barrel, it's an AK and you are just mistaken. unless it's a Dragunov in which case you are very mistaken.

it probably won't say what the manufacturer was on the gun. a knowledgeable person should be able to tell by looking at it, as they are all fairly distinctive. it will always have the importer marked somewhere on the gun, because as imports are verboten, the "importer" is officially the "manufacturer".

post a picture and a price tag.

Get the name off of it and type it into the search at GunBroker. A milled Polytec is going for 2,000.00 a milled Century 695.00. Stamped guns go from about 450.00 to 1500.00 depending on who builds them. Saiga (Russian) makes longer barreled sporters. Several manufacturers make RPK models with longer barrels. We need more info to know what you have and what its worth.
