I picked up a Remington 700 yesterday. I just HATE trying to figure out what these exactly are. Why can't they just put it on the gun???
What if every car Ford made was a mustang....even the minivans....and they didn't put the name "windstar" anywhere on the blooming thing??? (You just had to KNOW the boxy mustangs with three back seats were windstars.)
The Remington 700 I have here is a hvy stainless fluted barrel 300 ultra mag with a synthetic stock.

You're right about that. I sent an 1100 to Remington for repair and adjustment. They sent it to some New York gunsmith who sent me a bill and sent my gun back.
Gun still don't work, but like you said, at least I tried.

Yes as a matter fact I have. That is where I got my education in the the different 700 Remington models.[;)]
I wouldn't go up against that SF, you will find out what a real thunder cannon can do, not those tiny bench rest toys.[:)]

All in all Remington is crap.
Hmmmm, the most used factory action on the benchrest equipment list,..yep crap. Folks who poo poo the remington 700, in my experience, couldn't post a decent group with a full custom benchrest rifle. I have beat MANY a custom action (BAT, Nesika, Hall, Kelby, etc) with a lowly rem700 action. I don't have any more faith in my BAT action than I do a rem700.
