22LR and .410 for under $120

Well after a $20 rebate it's $119

Bought this combo at Dunham's and I've got to say WOW. This is such a killer deal. My 8 yr old was just tickled to get this for his birthday. It's sure to see a lot of use for lots of years.

Sure it's all plastic and welded steel, but it fits together nice and tight, the .22 receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope base (any recommendations gang?) and it came with a pocketed canvas case to keep all the parts in. Helluva value.

That would be a Rossi combo. Forgot to put the brand in the title.

I have one in .17/.410 that I bought 9 years ago. Mine is the youth model with the short stock, purchased back when Zinderbloc Jr. was little. I think I paid $135 back then.

The .410 set-up does kick a bit even with the standard shells.

Speaking of shooting the .410... Can you shoot .45LC in that barrel? Just curious.

Bought my grand son one in stainless steel about three years ago. That little runt can break clays thrown in the back yard faster than I can buy the shells for it! Shells cost three times as much as a 12 gauge.

    I have one I bought about 4yrs back. I would rather shoot a 12ga 3 1/2 mag 00 buck than I had that 410 with standard shells

The manufacturer doesn't say you can, so I'd say you shouldn't try this.

.45LC operates at higher pressure than .410 shotshell. With the specific exception of certain guns designed to take either round (and they're usually .45LC guns that can take .410 shells, not the other way around), in general this is not a safe conversion.

.45LC operates at a higher pressure than .410 shells.

If you need more "oomph" try a .410 slug.

Out of a pistol, these are not that impressive, but with a full length shotgun barrel, you can get a 90-100 grain .39 caliber lead slug going at about 1700fps, depending on brand and loading.

That's comparable to .357 magnum load with a light bullet from a long-barrel revolver. I wouldn't want to get shot by that!
