(est. 3 hours), then from Atlanta to Fort Smith (est. 1 hr 52 min) with a 3 hour lay over in Atlanta. This is HUGE for me seeings that I promised myself I would never get on a plane in my life. Unfortunatally, I have no choice....
Wish me luck!!![:)]

Good luck. Statistically, flying is much safer than driving. My parents had me on planes since I was too young to remember so I've never understood the fear that some folks have of flying, but I know it's real.
I knew a statistician who was deathly afraid of prop-planes. He lived in a small ND town where the only flights out were small prop-planes. This guy would drive 100 miles in a blizzard to get to a larger airport where he could get on a jet plane before he would fly out of his own town. Totally irrational. And as a statistician he must--on some level--have known what he was doing. But that's how phobias are, I guess.
Again, good luck. Don't try having three drinks to calm your nerves before you get on. Airplanes have very dry air and you'll never get as much water as you want if you've had a couple drinks.
Try to relax, those things hardly ever go down.
One guy in my platoon in jump school was a Georgia boy who got bussed to Ft. Benning. He had never been in a plane before, and after jump school he could say he'd been up in planes five times, but hadn't landed in one yet!

LMAO. That's awesome.
I have heard about the "very dry air" my mom was telling me they have little fans above your head you can turn on for some sort of flow of air....But I will probly be spending most of my time in the bathroom, hugging the toilet[xx(][xx(][xx(]
That said, let us know how it goes[;)]
It's just a big bus, that gets you there faster.
Have a good trip.

You will be just fine Sith Lord. Have a great trip, enjoy the people and the sights, then tell us us all about it when you get the chance.
Oh, you're young enough, you'll probably be wearing tennies.
What the hell...get 'em shined, anyway.
You will be fine.
Have the three drinks, and suck on ice cubes.
Doug
I agree it's a pain in the ka-knee-knee, but you will do fine. Maybe you'll luck out and get a female flight attendant. GOOD LUCK!
The worst part of your flight will be Fort Smith, Arkansas. If it's not the @$$hole of creation, then it certainly is what comes out of it.
Most folks go for the isle seat because that way they're not trapped. I ALWAYS go for the window seat, because I like looking at the country from above.
Eh, maybe if you're nervous and it's your first flight, then you should go for the isle. But if you find that flying isn't terrifying, then go for the window. It's a pretty country we live in! And it's cool to see it from above.
