I am looking for a sling for my Yugo M48 Mauser as I'd like to use it for hunting this fall.[:p]
The dealer that sold me the rifle 4 yrs ago had the sling but it got misplaced while it was on layaway.[V]
A leather one would be okay. A re-pro. synthetic would be better.
Anyone here know where I can find this item.[?]
I useds to see many in the ads in ShotGun News not so much these days.
I just got back from the range sighting in the scope I put on it and that, in part, reminded me I needed a sling.[:(]

Thanks for all help.

I have a hard time finding slings that I like. Even if I did I have so many guns that it would cost a ton to buy enough. I think I am going to start making my own. Does anyone else do this? Where to you get your equipment? I am assuming that webing can be found at most fabric stores, but where do I find buckles, hooks, ect, I am not talking about sling swives.

Just remember there are no stupid questions, just stupid people asking questions.

looking at getting a sling for both my m1a and bushmaster ar. the m1a im also gonna use as a hunting rifle so im thinking just an old mil style sling should be good. for the ar though im wondering if the single point slings are worth it and what you guys would recomend. or would a 3 point sling be better? what are the differenteces other then points of attachment?

Depends on how you want to use your sling as to what style you need. I build my own for about $10 and some time getting exactly what I want.

Depends on your use. I prefer 2 point but I can see the use of 1 or 3 point slings.

For me 2 point (not in the standard sling spots) keeps the rifle at the ready and out of the way. If I need to kneel my left (weak side) knee goes up and keeps the bbl out of the dirt. It makes for an easy transition to or from a sidearm. If I need to shoot left handed a simple raising of the rear stock over my head frees me from the sling.

You can do lots of cool things with a 3 point but I prefer the 2 point. Maybe with a better hands on showing of how a 3 point sling really works I might change my mind.

Single point slings to me have a very limited use. I could be wrong but for other then standing type "CQB" operations it does not keep it secure enough for me. The idea of "dropping" your rifle in a transition and getting hit in the nuts with the front site is not my idea of fun.
