I thought I would check out this forum on the suggestion of another member after a little tiff with the admin. on a different forum that had me decide to close my account there. So, Hello! I am a 22 y.o. mechanic in Elizabeth, Colorado who enjoys the gun freedoms my great state has provided for us. I have a beatiful sweetheart of a wife, no kids, 1 horse, 2 cats and an antisocial gecko. As far as the reason we are all here -guns- I like most anything that isn't junk, but particularly fancy Kimbers and Remingtons. I am a 10mm nut but I shoot 23 other calibers as well. I hope I can contribute good stuff and be a valuable member to this forum.

Nice to have you. I do however have one small critique. The great state of Colorado hasn't provided you anything. The United Sates constitution has![;)] Sorry, couldn't resist...you'll find this is the norm around here.[8D] Welcome.

The constitution didnt give him anything, the constitution merely points out what rights you should have.. each individual state has its own gun laws, some more stringent than others,, Look at California,, the constitution aint helped them poor people any. Even Cities have different laws concerning laws,, (regardless of what the constitution states) so local and state government control gun issues,, not the constitution...Now if the Federal, state, and local governments gave a hoot about the constitution, we would not have any gun laws to contend with..

OK, arguable, but my state has provided excellent protection from the gun grabbers (more specifically, gov. Owens has). Our state constitution specifically states the individual right to keep and bare arms. Also, more recently, Owens has signed some very good bills into law. The best was C.R.S. 29-11.7-103, enacted 18 March 2003. It states "A local government may not enact an ordinance, regulation or other law that prohibits the sale, purchase or posessionof a firearm that a person may lawfully sell, purchase or posess under state or federal law. Any such ordinance, regulation or other law enacted by a local government is void and unenforceable."
Colorado state laws are less restrictive than federal, except for the "Gunshow loophole" thing. (the columbine tradgedy got that one through)
We are also a "shall issue" CCW state. And 9 out of my 11 state reps get failing grades from Brady campaign. My districts congresman got a 0% rating from the anti's[:D].
