Buick fan??

My first car was a 65 skylark gran sport 401 4 speed posi
it was a white convertable I bought from the original owners with under 50k miles...I paid 300 bucks in 1975...
I was looking at www.traderonline.com these cars are still very reasonably priced (compared to other a-body GM convertables)

are there any for sale in your area?
I would like to have one again, I loved it!!

.....Might want to bookmark this site. They only have one '65, but it's a hardtop and kinda beat up. Their inventory changes pretty often though. It's a good place to look and drool.

I remember trying out a brand new Buck Grand Sport in 1965. It stuck in my mind because it didn't have posi-traction and it would spin one wheel if you hit the gas while moving. I tried to get the GTO but they were backordered so I bought a new Olds 442, with close ratio fours speed and posi-traction. Damn fun car. Here is a bad picture. Not much more than 3K brand new!

Its funny! Now Buicks are "Blue Hair" cars according to the younger crowd. They need to market another performance car to change that image.[:)]

....Dad always bought Electras...[xx(]...In '70 or '71, I talked him into getting a boatail Riviera. Not a muscle car by any stretch, but the 455 could scoot all that heavy iron pretty well. You had to be a midget contortionist to wash the rear window though.

That list is very debateable. It may be right for the exact cars as listed as geared and those transmissions, but there were alot of options availible.
Alot of difference between a car with 3.55 rear gears and an automatic and the same car with a stick and 4.10 gears for example, and especially with good tires. That was always the problem with those big blocks and all that torque -- getting it on the ground instead of up in smoke.
I saw alot of those cars run, and ran against alot of them, and that's not how they shook out -- but fun to look at anyway.

But look on the late model car list. Alot of Corvette's [:)] and an extra 6th gear for top end if needed..

Better check #43 - 360hp/327 1962 Corvette....that is the only small block in the mix.
