Pulling a well and replacing the submersible pump for a fella who lives just outside of town in the horse country area. Long about 6pm I hear brbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbp....brbrbrbrbrbrbrbrp really fast cycling small caliber like a 9mm Mac. Minute or two later tatatatatatatatata...tatatatatatatatatatat definitely an AK. Little bit after it stopped papapapapapapapapapapapap.....papapapapapap an M16 then back to the AK for a couple more 30 rounders and another fifty or so rounds of M16. Then KABOOMOOMOOMOOM a single 50 caliber shot about a minute later...KABOOMOOMOOMOOM another and another and another.
The lady of the house said that it was rude or something like that and that she worried for her safety cause he's shooting like that all the time. I told her that since we were only a mile from the town limits that I could guarantee that every police man from the town and county had been to see the guy and made damn sure he had a class 3 license and that his shooting range was adequate to stop anything he was shooting from leaving his property. As far as it being rude he was just pursuing his own brand of happiness and was well within the law. I informed her that it being still a somewhat free country she had nothing to keep her from moving well away from him. I also told her if she asked politely he may shoot at times more suitable to her schedule, like when she is at work. Or if she is having guests over for dinner on the deck she could call and see if he'd stick to 22's that day. Stuff like that. I hold off until after church lets out on Sundays since the minister asked so nice.

Bump-Fire seems to be the technique of holding the gun in your weak hand and use your strong hand as a "hook" to catch the trigger and pull the weapon forward by your weak hand and the weapon is by your hip.
What I do is find the "Sweet spot" as I call it.
Fire the rifle from shouldered and aimed position, just fire a few rounds or magazines to get to know the trigger and exactly where it breaks.
Then "cramp up" my forearm/hand (let the elbow stay fairly loose) just enough as to let the recoil on my shoulder do the walking of the trigger.
It can with some experience reach what sounds like small bursts of FullAuto - and in many cases at least half of FA-rate.
BUT this allows you to shoot aimed shots instead.
I think PaBooger heard it when I let his Camp-9 rip through his 30shotmag. The whole mag lasted about 4-5 seconds I guess, we didn't time it - and oh yeah.. I let 5-8 shots go before I emptied the rest.
His kids seemed happy about it too.
Now that wasn't even close to what I've come at max firing rate, it can quite possibly go a lot faster than that.
I've seen measurements by shootingtimers showing readouts at 340-480 shots per minute on FNFAL, AR15 and Mini-14 on this kind of shooting.
Those shots were a full-clip too, 20-30 shots.
I've done something like 290 shots per minute on a civilian version of HK G3A3 7.62Nato in Greenland using this method.
That is about half of it's original FA-rate, but this was aimed shots that all hit a dumped and empty gas-canister at 80 yards.
The gun didn't climb into the air like a normal G3 would at full auto, it stayed on target.
In order to develop a more precise weapon, FullAuto weapon that is - the manufacturers lowers the cadence/rate-of-fire so it is easier to handle - it also saves ammo.
It's not because it can't go any faster on FA - it can.. you just can't control it then.
So I guess it's not just empty talk, that you can fire close to or as fast as FA-rate by developing your own trigger-technique.
Been there... done that.. only got close to half the rate.. but that was close enough while still maintaining relative accuracy.
I guess I could go 50% faster than my max.. if all I wanted was to burn off some cartridges and empty some magazines.
But where's the fun in that.?
Don't do anything that I've allready done - That'd be just plain STOOOOOOPID.
