I'm currently looking to sell a Remington 25-20 pump of mine, and I really havn't had much luck. I know the 25-20 isn't really much of a caliber anybody wants, but i'm just curious to get you're opinions of this, what you might think, and even if I could sell this gun.

I'd buy one just to match the pistol caliber of my old revolver. If the price was right.

Well i'd like to get atleast 250 out of it, the wood is in perfect shape, the bore is in 100% condition, there's a few scratches on the reciever, it's a pump rifle not a carbine. I had it apraised at 400, but.. The thing that really hurt it's sale was there was one a side mounted scope on it, so there's holes that are filled in from reciever mounts at one time.. But it's not a collectors peice anymore, it's more of a shooting peice[:)]

If I had pictures, i'd post them aswell, but havn't got around to it, if anyones really interested, i'll snap some quick pictures of it for ya.

Great turkey rifle. I have used both the .25-20 and the .32-20 with lead bullets for turkey.

Iroquois, that's kinda interesting heh. How well did the 25-20 work on the turkey? And how far away have you shot a turkey with a 25-20?

Matty, I'm coming in late on this and realize I am down on the list. However, if the ones ahead of me pass on the .25-20 please let me know. This would be a fine companion to my Win. '92 and my Marlin, both in .25-20. I handload for this caliber and have a lot of fun with it. Would appreciate seeing some photos of it. TIA Doc

Sounds like a bidding war is about to start. Count me in the "interested" group. I have a model 73 in that caliber.

My Dad called it the poacher's gun. [:D]

Well I had hoped that I had affirmed first. I won't get into a bidding war with my fellow GB members.I don't even bid on the auctions if a GB member is bidding on the item.

BDJ, you will notice that in my post I only expressed interest if the members ahead of me passed on the rifle. I will not get into a bidding war between members. I wanted to get my place in line so if others passed on it I would be notified. Have a great day.

In answer to your question about turkey hunting, the range was about 50-60 yards. You don't want to use the high velocity jacketed bullets as they mess up to much meat. Use the lower velocity lead bullets and aim for where the wings join the body.

Well all, I hate to tell you this, but I just sold the 25-20, a local man stopped in at the gunshop, and said he wanted it, so I tracked him down. It was cheaper then paying shipping[;)], sorry all.
