The girl, sorry I forget her name, did a pretty darn good job at the second game. At least she could hit the notes (not an easy song to sing because of the range) and didn't urban it up like so many do.

What did people expect? He's a rocker and a hard rocker at that. He sang it exactly as I would expect him to. Aerosmith is a Boston band and everyone there knows how he would sing the National Anthem. They got exactly what they wanted and everyone who doesn't like it too bad.

they love what they do and don't realize how bad they sound?

Some are still pretty good, I've seen Deep Purple live not too long ago and Ian Gillan can still sing [:)]

Agreed, I salute him for the job he did. It was a respectful and proper banner. If anyone thinks a singer can just stand in the COLD air and belt out perfect notes you are wrong. Cold air raises hell with a singers voice. Being a HARD rock singer the 62 year old man did just fine.

If you're talking about the Giants-49ers game, that was Kristin Chenoweth. Yeah, she did do a great job, on-key all the way through.

I cover sports for a local paper, and I hear some of the most awful renditions of the National Anthem. Most schools use recorded versions, and they are mostly done in a modern form, meaning that are sung in a hip-hop form. There was one game that I covered at a local high school where the singer was a young teenage girl who performed the song flawlessly and with a very nice singing voice.

It was Steve Tyler. What did everyone expect? That's the way he sings. While he is not my favorite singer by a long shot, he sang the National Anthem with respect and dignity. I have heard alot worse renditions.

Steven Tyler did a good job with the National Anthem. Represented Boston, didn't try to over sing and I thought sounded like he should have. This dude has been around R&R for like 50 years and been through it all. He screams, Bing yodled, and Spike Jones makes me laugh my tail off.
