Safety Warning of the Day

Spraying brake cleaner all over a hydrostatic lawn mower then blowing compressed air to clean it inside an enclosed garage make one feel very...mellow.

Sure you can open the door briefly to air it out, but there is still quite a concentration when you lie on the floor under the tractor.

That must have been one of the more obscure and difficult to read warning labels on the can!

If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!

The other guy was saying it was hitting him pretty hard. He was under the tractor trying to get a hydraulic line off.

I didn't think it was too bad but I was working while standing on the other side doing some minor electrical.

I finally got down there and tried to fight the hard to reach nut. Dang, I had no idea that stuff could concentrate so much under it. I really realized it when I got in the truck and drove home.

    I'll try to remember that.

I think using the compressed air also made it worse.

I can top that little bit of stupid with my own.
About 20yrs ago our liquid manure tank was rusted in the bottom. No problem, I cleaned it out good and applied Bondo and fiberglass mesh to it. I had the shop vac blow into the top of it to supply the proper ventilation.
Needless to say, proper ventilation was NOT happening and for the next couple of months I still felt the effects of the chemicals.

It's like what Bobby Knight once said about how he handles stress.

If rape is inevitable, relax and enjoy it.

What's done is done. Might as well laugh about it. I've used a 6 pack of this stuff before and washed it off but using the compressed air really atomized it.

Might as well laugh about it now.

Depending on the brand brake cleaner you were using, you could have been breathing in carcinogens VOCs into your lungs. I hope not.

Let's see since the goodies ain't in a bag so it's not huffing. I reckon since it's free floating in a room so "free basing" of "contact huffing"? Better yet "Free Style Huffing [:D]"

Next time get one of those misting fans and change the water to brake cleaner [:D].
