I was having a 8' pvc privacy fence put up, and the fence guy dug this up. I found out it is a vintage VW Vase. I never heard of one. They sell for around 200 bucks on ebay and are not as nice as this one. The glass is all etched. Curious as to what year it is. Anyone have any idea???? Cannot find any info on it. Oakie. Anyone interested in buying it, let Me know and Donna will put it up for sale on GunBroker only. No side deals.Sorry. Oakie
I don't see any cracks or chips in it at all. There is a factory hole in the side of it for the part that holds it on the dash. My neighbor is a VW restoration guy and i sent him the pictures just now. He said he has never seen one like this in this condition. He moved last month and said it was not his. He has been restoring VW bug, vans and buses for over 45 years, so I figure it's worth a brick of 22 or something like that.[:D][:D][:D] He said he will try to find me a price range for it.

Makes you wonder what else is there...
They've been reproduced, but I've never seen one quite like that one. Most are more slender and a bit smaller.
There should be no base on it as it sat in a round holder without touching anything.

It looks older than the 1940's, 50's VW's.
May have come from a high end 1930 to 50's car.

The "etching" you're refering to is actually cut marks made by water grinding wheel.
