    Good. Vodka is nothing but rubbing alcohol anyway, minus the bowel-melting poison factor. Scratch that, maybe it is rubbing alcohol...[xx(][xx(]

    I could do that in my store, too! I think I could stand the loss of revenue. Like, maybe 6 bottles of Russian a year!!!!! Then, again, maybe I couldn't stand the loss. Things been pretty tight around here lately! [xx(]

    Lots of states have "craft" distilleries gearing up. Clear spirits are the easiest, so that is what they start with. Prices are high.

    The liquor store didn't "ban" Russian vodka, they are "embargoing" it (ie not stocking any).

    My opinion?

    Its one of those things that looks good at first glance, but is actually not so smart.

    In practice, Russian vodka is still legally importable, and anyone who really wants it will still be able to get in .

    Ultimately this type of embargo mostly hurts the importer of the vodka (who is probably an American). Yes, the Russian manufacturer will take some (absolutely miniscule) loss in sales, but he's not the guy who decided to invade the Ukraine, and I sort of doubt Vladimir Putin cares one iota about a 0.001% loss in Russian vodka exports.

    Russian vodka probably hasn't been "the best" in well over 20 years, if not longer.

    In any case, by definition vodka is supposed to be NEUTRAL grain spirits. So the "best" vodka, again, by definition, is the one with the LEAST amount of flavor!

    I remeber when you couldn't get Russian vodka in the states.

    We always got a bottle of Stoli when we deployed to Panama.

    Now when I drik Vodka I like Polish Vodka made from potato's.
