AK47 handguards

I bought three AK47 parts kits about 15 years ago and finally found someone to assemble them back in August. Two are rifles and one is a pistol because of the barrel length. The pistol has no hand guards (as it should have had from the kit)and I want to buy a Tapco pair. My problem is that I think, but not positive, that the parts kit was an AMD-65. Are all the AK hand guards the same or do I need one specifically for the kit?

Thanks guys,

With my Zastava PAP M85 pistol the hand guard was a Yugo length and Russian/Chinese gas tube cover. Now since the two are different the teeth don't line up. It don't matter none until Ultimak makes their M85 gas tube rail but I've been waiting for now 2 years. I may have to go with MI [V].

Measure and Hogue had the ones that correlate to them numbers and go from there.
