I should've stayed on my patch of 831.

So I was told there is a gun shop in Mountain View, CA. Since I was going to the Chinese and the Japanese market on Saratoga I'd stop at "The Gun Vault". Damn if that El Camino Real wasn't a confusing road. First I had the bright Idea and stop at the gun shop and then pick up my eats. Keep cold food at the store while I shopped for a gun.
Well I found El Co easy enough but I was headed the wrong way. The numbers got bigger and I was headed East instead of West. Flipped a * and went West. The numbers got smaller then bigger and smaller and bigger again. The damn road goes through couple of towns so it gets goofy. Finally found it in a residential area. Kind a cramped with many bodies. The prices were much higher than what I was used to. Saw me a used Kimber CDP II for $1000 and change (before tax and 4473) where I got mine for $750 with a cracked frame. Replace the frame and I got a new gun. Basically what I'm saying is stuff wasn't priced to my liking. Sure they had a wall of black guns and a Century Arms AK with a banana magazine (30 rounder?) for $750. Got real close to buying but passed. For all I know she was rigged to be a single shot.
So on my way out I wanted to get back on Saratoga Ave so I could get my eats. Did you know there is two Saratoga Aves 3 miles apart on 280? I took Saratoga and it wasn't my usual Saratoga and circled that * one too many times thinking it's just a down a ways. Then the damn street changed names to De Anza. Finally I said forget it and I reckon I'll be getting a few ticket from those Stop Light Cameras 'cos I got lost [V].
Got back on 280 and there was another Saratoga so I figured since I am here and I'll be getting tickets in the mail I might as well get some good eats today. I got to remember when I go to San Jose I need to smear crap on my front license plates and flip the rear one down like I forgot to flip it back up after filling up [:D].
I should just stay on my 831 for my gun buying and save the gas. Big cities suck * when I go without Map Questing it first.

The Cities streets are even more jacked up. They have 4 distinct districts, NE, SE, NW, SW. They will have the same street ie. 1o TH in each area...10th ST SE...so if you don't know the suffix your screwed...then some of those streets will end inexplicably, then start again two blocks over, 3 blocks down. Who ever set up their Streets is a total retard.
quote:There is spray you can buy online for your plates that make the pictures distorted, and doesnt obscure them to normal folks, think they make it to bright or something when the pic is taken. Get a can for 12 dollars and save a bunch, lol. You should move from Cali anyways, 400 for an AK all day long here.
I saw that on Myth Busters. They busted the myth that it worked. People wrote emails saying they just didn't test it right so they tested it again. Real cop cameras at realistic locations and heights and it still did not work. The only way they got it to work was by going several hundred miles per hour in a dragster of some sort.
Cheese and rice folks!!!!!!!
I'll never buy those spray on crap. Mud is free [:D].
Rosie - That would be me very soon. Now if I knew cuss words in Japanese I would be funny.
buckstar - Yeah the Red Light ticket sign stated the fines were $281. I'm thinking why not $280? Do they really need to make it an odd number? I guess with other "fees" it'll round out. I got oodles of time to kill so that thar is no biggie [:D].
SCOUT5 - Hey in your patch 30 round banana magazines grow on trees but here in my neck of the woods it's rare like. I mean on the wall of ARs they all got no mags and shorties so when you run in to a knee knocking banana it's news.
I have only heard one Guy Cuss in Japanese.
Was on Okinawa and had taken a Generator to a Higher Maintenance shop for repair. Now this is a Big 4 cyl Diesel Detroit. They do Inspections of the generators before they will accept them into their shop. Well I told the guy Do not try to start it cause It had a hole in one Piston.
I then left and went inside to start the Paper work. Well he did not listen and tried to start it. Completely soaked him down in Oil, his work bay even the ceiling. Boy was he cussing when he came into the building. Not sure what he was saying but under the oil you could tell he was very red faced.[:o)]

281 is a prime number. Governments try to make road signs interesting as well. This relieves boredom while driving and aids in memory. You remembered the price for that one and are now sharing it... They did a good job with that aspect.
Anyways... The price of one ticket would pay for a GPS. :P Here's mine. It's a very good one with a big screen but I think there are newer ones now. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZX8B2S/ref=oh_o00_s06_i02_details
I also use it as a speedometer as it's easier to read my speed off of it and watch the road than to use the one in the dashboard. It also tells me what the speed limit is for stretch of road I'm on and turns my displayed speed red when I'm over the limit. That's pretty cool.
Edit: Also, you said that a road you were using was named "280". Perhaps they didn't want the price to confuse people who were looking for the number 280 for guidance... A committee decision that makes great sense to people sitting around a table.
buckstar - Prime number, eh? Okay. Also a road sign and a sign stating fines are kind a hard to confuse (even for me). Now the same named streets running side by side three miles down that's just lazy.
Don't feel bad Yosh, I know exactly what you mean. During heavy commute hour I have gotten very flustered on that road trying to find an address.
Those Red light cameras if I recall, are about $450 a shot!

Oh I don't feel bad. I wasn't expecting the place to be in a residential joint in a mini-strip mall with a small * sign.
I did manage to find a few adult stores on that stretch of road [:D].
Well I reckon business must be so good they lowered the ticket [:D].
