Neat! My dad is in Ironwood. He has Tacconelli's Towne House, great place to eat or have a cold one. He has a pizza place in Bessemer as well.

Those two Bucks in the 3rd. pix. could be nice next Fall, if You would feed them right.as they booth look to be 2yrs old.
They need both Proper food and age to get to be 150" B&C Trophys.

    Good Luck.

Great pictures, the deer don't usually have you out numbered like that.
We get small herds around our house (8-12) but nothing like that.

Let me know if you need a property manager. Seems like a lot of deer, is the herd in check??
Although always described as a cowboy, Roswellnative generally acts as a righter of wrongs or bodyguard of some sort, where he excels thanks to his resourcefulness and incredible gun prowesses.

Very cool! I saw a herd of elk yesterday from the interstate that was three times that size. I love seeing wildlife.
And sometimes I like to eat them too.

Man, I've never seen anything like that. The snow, yes, but not all the deer! Awesome.

Just wondering ... Are they being fed?

You just can't get them all in one picture. This years highest count was 86 maybe 87, last year there were 92 in one count.

Yo Gander, I'm just curious. What is attracting all these deer to this place? I don't want to just assume that they are being fed. Are you doing some studies on them? what attracts them? What scares them? What vocalizations are you hearing? Must be totally awesome to study them? and to just watch them? I'd have trouble getting much else done!

Just about an hour north of me. Ironwood on the other hand is considerably farther.

A combination of weather, geography and feed. The annual snowfall here is half of what it is 10 miles north and another 10 miles it almost doubles again, this moves the deer south. Just to the west of us there is a large river bottom which is a natural winter deer yard. There fore we have deer migrating south and west through the area. Now for the geography. As you can see in the pic the house sites on a ridge which runs east and west maybe six to seven miles, the house being a couple hundred yards from the west end. Then another ridge starts at that point and runs north a couple miles creating this large funnel. At the point of the funnel feed! We have about a dozen or so deer that spend the year in the neighborhood, the rest start showing up soon after it starts snowing. I built my home here in 78. We had horses and the deer were first attracted to their feed. Then I started to feed the deer as well. About ten years back we built my daughters house on the ridge behind our place and she took over feeding the deer.
This time of year the deer aren't very vocal but you can tell what their mood by the ears.
Here is another picture of my daughter at feeding time.

By the way, Ironwood is about four hours west and north, Houghton Lake is another four hours east and south.

This is what I am most curious about. In all the years I have been hunting, I have only heard a few grunts....that is it.
