I have no interest, but I'll plug it anyway.

Don't know the seller, just saw this auction and thought that anyone who would list a $2,000+ gun (the stocks cost $400 or so) for a penny should get a plug.

I'd bid on it if I weren't so damn broke. Very cool gun.

OK, I couldn't resist it. I threw a bid on it but it will sell for way more than I bid. Just wanted to get it started.

How does that go from $.01 to over $1000 in just 7 bids? Why did they not just start out small?

I was outbid in 6 minutes.

This will go for $2,500 or more. I think it's actually worth around $1,800, but I bet it will go higher.

The reason it jumped so quickly is because there are probably a couple dozen guys watching the auctions searching the words Registered and Magnum. When one pops up it draws instant interest. A lot of people are looking for these.

I posted a photo of mine on another forum and got four offers to buy it via email.

PS: Some serious collectors don't consider the KC guns (the Kansas City PD bought several hundred of these) to be Registered Magnums because none of the registration certificates were sent back to S&W but I think that's condensed applesauce. I bet most RMs sold to police agencies were never "registered" and these guns have the registration number stamped right on the frame. Makes them RMs in my book. Also, S&W historian Roy Jinks refers to them as RMs... so there!
