57th birthday-Thanks to tolerant posters

Today (5/7/49) is my 57th birthday, and, while I'm officially retired, I got to spend it the way I would like to spend my time. I went to church this morning, and then went to work on the crops. I just got in from the fields (OK, it's a bit late, damn, we old folks are lazy) trying to raise some of that booze crop (corn) that everyone thinks is going to solve the nation's fuel problems (dipwads). I have only been a posting member of this forum for about nine months, but that is long enough to observe that there are some people here that, while they have some offbeat opinions on occasion, have a pretty solid grip on the reality of the world environment that we live in. I am sure that I am leaving several people out that I have learned to have some respect for, but I want to say that I have learned to have a great appreciation for the thoughts of people like (damn, this list is too long) DWS, BDJ, Mateo, JamesRK, BTS, Bloviator, dheff, zipper, cowdoc, dcon12, fishermanben, Hairy( I don't agree with you more than 1% of the time, but you still make sense and have insight, and therefore have value in ANY discussion) Hughbetcha, kristov (PLEASE send me an e-mail with "E" address), p3, Cubs, RogueRob, Ruger, Nunn, JBW, EMM, Hedog, HenryO, CaptPlaid, 1911(several flavors),Scott, Lowrider, FCD, Classic, Clouder, CThunder, bobski and some others I'm sure I missed and apologize for leaving out. I am a relative newbie here and I think that that only gives me a limited right to speak my mind on topics of conversation on this forum, but I really do enjoy the opportunity to express my thoughts, and sometimes contribute my knowledge, to the topics of discussion that arise on these threads. There are those here who are complete fools, and I'm too damn old to suffer them graciously, but most of the people here are the kind of folks who have opinions that might be controversial on occasion, but are generally the sort of people any sane person would be more than happy to sit down at a table with and share a cup of coffee with at any time and in any place. Thank you for the opportunity to pontificate for the last nine months.

Thanks DWS, you are one of the folks that I actually appreciate getting that expression from, and whose opinion I value when I read the occasional evaluative analysis on this forum. I know you catch crap on occasion, but Damn Man, you do know your stuff.

Nope, probably not yet. Just one of the many who got left out in any listing. Sorry.

All right dangit! I'll probably get over it. But, it's not going to be easy to get off to sleep tonight. I'm real sensitive, you know.[:o)][}:)][:p][:D]

On the straight up though, I'm in your age group; 58 in Feb. '05.

Happy Bday, again, and many more!

Thanks Frogbert, I appreciate the sentiment. Aren't we all real sensitive to the most minimum slight.[:D] I can tell that you are a real touchy/feely kind of guy who just will be devastated if somebody slights you in the least way. You will probably never get over it. Oh well, you might as well just die.[;)] It is fun, isn't it, when you get old enough to just blow off the "doom and gloom" idiocy that some of the young ones want to dump on us.
