During the kind of pandemic they like to predict, it isn't the birds that would scare me. Its the hysterical masses. Bird flu doesn't seem to be all that bad, as long as you aren't really old, really young, or immuno suppressed. A panicking mob would be much more dangerous.
I still don't think we have anything to fear from the bird flu. First, it has to mutate so that it can be transmitted directly to humans and in the process of this mutation it has to remain at least as lethal as it is now. This is just one more of those problems they government creates so they can swoop in and save us all from anihilation.
