Whatever happened to the traditional breakfast of Nathan's hot dogs with sauerkraut and a bottle of Bud?

Whitecastle, not just for breakfast any more. Sure miss Whitecastles, have some every time I get back to St. Louis, which is not often. Oh well, I miss St. Paul sandwiches too, and Rich and Charlies salad.

    I think I need a trip...

I used to love White Castles and suffered very little in the way of deleterious side effects unless I included an order of onion chips. The last time I had their food the actual hamburger patties were so thin, approximately 1/16 of an inch, that I swore I wouldn't eat there again. The only way you could get them thinner would be if you could make meat paint and apply it to the bun with a roller. Eventually they seem to wreck everything.

Not me,.....fresh fruit and OJ tossed in the blender for a healthy smoothie.

Followed by 2 hard boiled eggs, and a vanilla protein drink.

they used to effect me something horrible, so much the entire family refused to eat them with me, i mean within minutes the worst violent gas you can have, one day i was driving 3 buddies to a cabin about 2 hours away, one had the bright idea to stop at white castles on the way, we loaded up, 20 min later it hit me, i locked all the windows {because guys do that}, the where begging for mercy, and threaten to cut a hole in my convertible top if i didnt comply

#2, i worked with a guy one summer, we did deliveries together in a box truck, one day i was leaving, he thought it would be cute to flag me down as if it where important, jumped in the passenger seat and ripped one off, and jumped out

ok so it was on, next morning i knew we would be riding together all day, so i stopped by a white castle up the street, bought a six pack off them, went into the discount grocery store and picked up a can of cheap greasy chili, and ate breakfast, if i had to wager a concoction to end all fart recipes, that would be the winner right there, imagine one of those tiny one that gas a room, the kind that sticks to you, now imagine that but in full non stop ripper hat peels paint, he hung out the passenger window most of the day, i thought he was going to cry, told the boss he shouldnt ever have to work under those conditions again

Are those onionburgers still eight for a Dollar? It's been over fifty years since I've had one.

I had a pal that worked at the White Castle meat processing plant in Lebanon, IN a number of years ago. Her job was to take a sample from a huge mixer of the ground meat and test for fat content. If too low, she was to add fat!

Nothing like sharing a crave case of Jalapeno Cheeseburger sliders w/ a group of hungry engineers on a Sat morning (breakfast).

Must be a Detroit area thing.

Heh heh. Reminded me of that scene from Pulp Fiction. Big Kahuna burgers for breakfast and a Sprite to wash it down. Followed by, "Say WHAT again MF, I dare you!" [:D][:D] Great movie.

    I miss White Castles.
The ones you buy in the frozen food section are not the same.
The closest Kyristal Burger is about 120 miles away[:(!]

I used to love those little things. I haven't seen a White Castle in years.
