Michigan schools have instructed their teaches not to use the word American when describing citizens of the United States....this is so we don't upst canadians or mexicans who are, after all, north americans, brazilians colombians venezualans who are south americans or costa rican hondurann elsalvidores who are central americans....boy did columbus screw up....
we are the only country with America in its name...I think were are americans...and should kep the title in spite of michigans sudden urge to be politically correct

There are historical precedents.
Don
Nearly every one in Europe and Asia call us Americans.
I think the french call you buttheads, the dutch call you left over cowboys, the sweedes call you...
Nah just kidding.. [:D]
We generally call north americans for "Americans"
And people from south america, we call brazilians, venezuelans and so on.. (for some reason.. ??!!??)
The laws of these United States of America only apply to its Citizens.
I advise everyone to renounce your Citizenship.
Notice i am not laughing.
The absurd has now become reality. This will continue for awhile. We will see what the Lord has in store for us.
And it definately gets more absurd by the day.almost surreal.

Yank n., adj. To a Brit, a Yank is anyone of American descent. It's not altogether complimentary and conjures up an image of Stetsons, oil wells, Cadillacs and overweight children. It was once popular to call large American automobiles Yank tanks - a description one might regard as unfair to the humble tank. The word is derived from Yankee, which I'm told by a contributor is an Indian word referring to those from Connecticut and New England. I am told by yet another member of my private army of researchers that Yankee was a derogatory term for northerners dating back to the American Civil War and is in fact an amalgamation of two common Dutch names - "Jan" and "Kees". Various others tell me it's from the War of Independence and as if that lot wasn't enough, I get about two mails a week from Americans defining a Yank as being someone from another part of the US. Well, as far as I'm concerned (and, I'm afraid, as far as everyone else in Britain is concerned) it refers to Americans. It's my dictionary, and that's that. Nobody said this was democratic. Pick a definition and run with it, that's what I say. When Americans stop calling anyone British "English", We'll stop calling y'all Yanks.
