#1 Selling Conceal Carry Gun of All Time?

One of the major gun sites on the web, that one from Lexington, KY, advertises the Ruger LCP as the "#1 selling conceal cary gun of all time!"

I have one, and I love it. Great little gun. But, has it really out sold all other conceal carry guns? Do they just mean that THEY sell more of that one than any other conceal carry gun?

Is there any definitive way to know the total LCP's sold, and compare that to how many are sold of other models?

A major gun distributer likely has connections within the manufacturing community. Ruger surely knows how many LCPs they've produced, so it might be as simple as asking.

As to it being the best selling of all time? That'd be a tougher number to get.....S&W has been selling J-Frames for about 60 years now.

That can't be true...its a good gun, but they must be limiting the criteria without telling what they were actually looking at.

Maybe it was during the month of November with one particular distributor.....who knows???

+1 on the J-frames....its hard to outsell something so quickly if you have only been producing for a few years and it has been producing for over half a century.

I have a LCP as well-but I would venture a guess that they really mean it is the fastest selling gun in the few years since it has come out. Dealers do not keep them on the shelves for very long. I have heard numbers as high as 500,000 units since they came out in 2008 have been made.

Bud`s gun shop ? I would not believe anything they say, they are top on-line sellers of weapons but they do anything for the sale including lie. Do not trust them and do your business with reputable sellers. I live close to them within 50 miles and I know first hand what the locals think of them.

Its amazing what you can find online...

.380s were the most produced handguns in 2010, checking in at about 665,500 units

Compare that to 2007, when about 138,500 where produced

Am I missing it somewhere, or did they not include the .45 in that fact sheet?

I think the key in the categories is the "to" in front of the calibers.

A .45 would have fallen into the "To .50" category, along with .40s
