Colt Courier .22 LR rifle

If you had a chance to pick up a colt courier rifle for $225 in good condition would that be a decent buy? Its not beat up, no obvious wear, or rust.
Or would I better off buying a new Ruger 10/22?
In a market for a .22 LR semi-auto rifle

The Marlin .22s are nice too, you may want to give them a look
Unless you're trying to hold resale value, I'd get the Ruger.

+1
BTW,......did you get your new A/H yet?[:D]
It's ok, he borrowed 200 bucks he "promised to pay back" so I took his Henry Goldenboy .22 for collateral. I can really shoot that one.
BTW,......did you get your new A/H yet?[:D]
Try as I might, I can't figure out what A/H means...
Assault Henry?
Apache Helicopter?
Awesome Haircut?

Air Handler, as in part of a H/P, or heat pump.

I didn't know I was looking for one....
Do you know something about my heat pump that I don't? [:)]

Actually,....I figured that Shilo would look at his own thread.
It was meant for him, and he would have known what I was referring to.
No pox put on your H/P.[:)]
I thought it meant A**hole![:0][:D]
I almost spewed water on my screen when I caught that one![}:)][:D]

he was talking to me...lol
Having a 70,000 BTU Propane Furnace and 3 ton coil installed on 1/25 instead of an Elect A/H. They are going to double the size of the return too.
When I get that gas line to the exterior tank installed will I someday have the option to T off that line to feed a propane water heater and a propane generator?

Some funny people around these parts![:D]
Sure,....you can run anything you want from a storage tank as long as the incoming main is large enough to do the branching that you will need.
Size the line coming in for what you plan on later, and tee off to your furnace for now. It will be oversized for what you are using at this moment, but that's fine.
If you do it in reverse, and size only for your furnace, you will have to increase the main as you add on. You have to maintain LP pressure if all of these gizmos fire up at once.
Thanks for all the advice.
I think you and Oakie should Moderate your own Forum on GB. Since I am not the one that would be stuck giving out all the free advice i think its a great idea...

Well I do try to buy some guns that will hold or increase in value. These Couriers were apparently made back in the 70's, and its in good shape for one that old.
I'm not a big Ruger fan, but a friend swears by the 10/22 for plinking
Roger, I will make sure the Gas Co. knows this when they run the line.

I believe I will pass,.....don't know about John.[;)]
Anyway, I have never owned one of the rifles you are looking at. If it means something to you, buy it.
I have had a number of 10/22's,.......hope I don't throw Rack off with that.
They are OK for plinkers.
Plenty of accessories if you want to change the look and all that.
Not anything that interested me to be honest. I don't own one at this point.
I hear Ruger is making an extended cap magazine other than the 10 round they have stuck by for many years.
Hopefully it will be better than the aftermarket ones in terms of reliability.

With all the different accessories you can get for them, it is hard to top a 10/22 for goofing off at the range.
On the other hand, a good argument can be made that Marlin makes a superior rifle, for generally less than you'll pay for the Ruger

are you talking about a Marlin 60?

If you're just wanting a knock-around shooter, I'd say go with the Ruger.
With those extra dollars you'll drop on the Colt you'll really only be getting the coolness of having a much less commonly seen rifle that'll hold it's value better.

That's what I find appealing. Plus its got a 15 rd tube. Of course if it breaks I'm probably hosed on parts for it.

CDNN had new 10/22s for $169 last week, not sure if they still have that price or not
10/22 is not the end all be all of 22lr, but it is cheap, realiable, and has endless custom options.
Marlins are a great buy too, particularly the Model 60.
That's what I find appealing.I have an old Stagecoach model Colt that I break out from time to time. Very short barrelled and quick handling, but I've found that for some reason it doesn't group hyper velocity rounds well at all.
There's nothing high quality about these rifles, it's just that you don't see them every day. Lots of folks aren't aware Colt ever made a .22 semiauto rifle.
are you talking about a Marlin 60?
I was actually referring to the 795, as it is the closest model to the 10/22 (both are magazine fed)
The Savage 64 is another option to consider.
