Yea, just like everything else. Used to be that I could buy lugers for $15 and M1Cs for $35. Things have gone up a little since then.

Keep an eye out for used ones. I got a killer deal on my last M1A and the EBR stock for it. As ammo prices climb the .308 rifles seem to be selling lower used. The .308 rifles are like big SUV's.

Many folks got scared and sold off their guns when it wasn't p.c. to own so many. Now they have liveds to regret that decision. I predict the value will skyrocket until the gov. big brother ultra. bans them. What do you think.?? We certainly see mags., cloips, ammo and guns escalting currently....no? What about in your area? I live in S. Ga.

A couple of months ago I posted a topic about this very thing, gun prices and AVAILABILITY.
I have been in the gun business since 78 and of course there have been highs and lows during that time both for prices and for the availability of specific guns. But it always works out and usually finds a medium and everything settles.

This time its different guys. I said before if you have been or are interested in a gun do not wait expecting it to go down or for there to be more and better choices. The prices have steadily increased over the past 10 months and many of the models are very hard to find.

If you find a good deal on a used one the same goes, get the best deal you can, but I would not wait.

The other thing that may be a player in this is the numbers of new people buying guns for the first time added to the people like myself who are adding to an existing arsenal. But the key is both are having an influence on both price and availability.

In spite of the prices at this time, I have never seen gun sales at anywhere near the volume that I see in my little store every day now.
I thought it was a fluke, but in checking with other small dealers such as myself, they are all experiencing the same thing. Also it appears that many of the guys who have been around for a while are supporting the little shops like mine before they go to the big boys to buy their goods and almost all of the small guys in my area are much cheaper ($30 to $125 per gun) less than Cabellas or Bass Pro or Sportsmanns Warehouse.

Good luch guys and don't wait.

    +1
When I look to order stock I no longer look for specific items, I look to see whats available... slim pickings sometimes.

What hasn't gone up? If you want something you had better buy it now as it will be less of a screwing than tomorrow. Not a good price, just less of a screwing.
