i finally talked my mother into letting me borrow my fathers marine corps photo.
i told her a while back that i wanted to take it and have a copy made. no can do she says, apparently sometime or another it had gotten wet and was adhered to the glass of the frame it was in.
cant take it out without destroying it. today i was able to talk her into letting me borrow it so that i could attempt to scan it glass and all, to the computer in hopes that i could edit any glare or imperfections that the glass may cause.
wish me luck.
still have some touching up to do, but here is what i got so far.

Take the photo outside and into a slightly shaded area where the flash will not go off and you have good natural light without glare from the sun. Inside lighting will make the photo very dark and most times come out with a very yellowish tint.
The higher the resolution of the digital photo the better it can be cropped and cleaned up.
This old photo is stuck to the glass in a frame and I did it like described above.
I used a 35 mm and a 150 zoom lens. Zoomed in were you could not see the corners of the old PIC.

Seems they think that soaking the glass and photo in water for a few hours might work.
You can read up on it some.....
if memory serves me correctly, bottom row right hand side, middle one on knee is my pops.
here is what the original scan looked like
Which one is your father??
i think, he is in the front row, second in from the right.
