I hate smart phones

Been using a flip phone just fine; but, for some unknown reason, decided to move up into modern time and get a smart phone.

I have fought that POS for 4 days. Too damn complicated, confusing and frustrating for my use.

I can take a desktop computer apart, put it back together again and guarantee it will work.

I just cannot comprehend a smart phone.

It's going in the closet never to come out again.

Back to my simple, plain flip phone.

Finally get used to it and you will wonder how you got along without it. Very useful tool when used right. But can become the center of attention and you stop paying attention to your surroundings.

Settle down. Find a 15-30 year old to help you learn it.
It's very simple. Once you figure it out, you'll love it.
Local tavern has a couple of 22-25 bar maids that are always us old coots out....
    Good luck,
    Ed

I'm retired and home most of the time.

There's 3 computers and an iPad here at the house.

I don't need a computer in my pocket.

Get a regular phone that has "buttons" and display that can be read in the daylight,, easily.

Then get a "smart" tablet with wifi. Never found an occasion where a smart phone would be of any benefit to me. Maybe someone who works or wants GPS location?

Myphone sits in the dresser drawer 9+ months a year. Absolutely do not need it overseas.

I run my trucking deal completely from this phone. Emailing, faxing, dispatch, fuel pricing, GPSing and a ton more. I often wonder how in the hell I drove a truck without an iPhone [:D][8D]

I has gotten to where I don't need a computer anymore, this phone does everything except play the big games my Alienware was built for.

I have a almost new Toyota Sienna van. It has a GPS that is often wrong. My phone always gets me where I'm going.

you need to see how often you are in a situation where you need to quickly take a picture, then text the photo to somebody (for help or to show something maybe for sale...."Hey Honey, it thes color OK?" ) , or to look up and compare prices (Barcode Scanner) or hit Amazon or eBay.

It is sometimes a minor hassle, but I have always believed that having one-purpose devices makes the most sense. I have a flip phone (which I almost never use), a camera, a fshing GPS, a car GPS, a golf GPS, a laptop for travel, a desktop computer for home...and a flashlight.

If one of them craps out THE OTHERS ALL WORK. If your fancy schmancy phone dies? Ha!
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Still using a flip phone. Killed my old one a while back. My kids were razzing me, telling me I was going to have to come out of the "stone age". Went down to the phone store, and told the fella I wanted one as close to the one I had as possible. He came up with one nearly identical to my old one. You should have seen my kids faces when I showed them my new phone.

    Peace

Backup devices, BSR? As a former USAF pilot, I prefer to have a primary, a secondary, a backup, an alternate, and an emergency substitute. Special Forces guys say "Two is one, and one is none." Good motto, but when you're flying, even two isn't enough.

I carried a company Droid for quiet a few years and when I retired I turned it in and then dug out my old flip phone and blowed the dust off of it and now it's what I carry when I'm out and about.

If I traveled a lot I would get me a smart phone but I'm home most of the time these days and don't really need one.

Actually the screens on those things are to dang small for me. I used to have to get my reading glasses out every time I wanted to use the Droid. I know you can increase the size on the screen but then it takes up the entire screen to try to get the words big enough to read.

I travel alpt so the smart phone GPS apps help me out a lot in places I visit. I still keep a road atlas in my truck. But the gps willnhave the latest informarion on traffic and rpad construction detours. I also like that downloadable ballistic shooting calculator, it's helpful for trying to figure out how different loads will perform out of rifles. It's also a good way to keep in touch with you old geezers on GunBroker![:D]

Read the instruction book, That's a good one. Didn't get one with mine. The wife told me to go through the tutorial but I can't see that it has one. I only use it for a phone anyway. It was cheaper than getting another flip phone.

I did too at first. I even went from a flip phone, to a smart phone, and back to a flip phone for a while. Now I have a smart phone again and honestly love it. It's a phone, computer, and camera all in one.

Smart move. I have to use a smart phone for my work and let me tell you, being part of the "beta testing" for the group of malevolent Nazis that inflicted these thumb screws on mankind is beyond infuriating.

It never gets better. They tell you it will, but it doesn't. After a recent update mine decided to speak to me in Spanish and called me "Ray" - as in "Ola, Ray". Who the hell is Ray? How do you say "call failed" in Spanish, por favor? [:(!]

I've broken my phone screen so often I know how to replace it myself. Every time I get a new phone I go to the top of one of our 35 story buildings, crush it, stomp it, slam it and chuck it to the roof of the shorter building next door.

We just got a pellet gun pistol range in the office. When this phone goes it's target practice time.

Much of the art of cell phone use is learning how to turn stuff off.

I have that feature on my flip phone. Once a month, I turn it on to see that $15 was added to my account again. And then I turn it off.

No new-fangled Iphone for me! I don't like 'em. Call me a Luddite, but just give me a good old fashioned flip phone.
