Mr Mayor,

My wife and I were planning a 5 day excursion to NO and were planning on staying downtown
In the French quarter. One of our main plans was to visit the WWII and confederate museums.
We are southern born and lived in SC all our lives.
We are scrapping our plans. Why? Because your Mayor and I guess city counsel has decided that
our southern heritage doesn?t matter any more. You have no use for people like us or our money
and we have no use for your city. If being proud of my heritage as a southerner makes me a raciest
then so be it. I?m not but you can think what you will.
I was there 3 years ago and spent a good bit of money while there and I so wanted to take my wife to see the
places I saw and I know we would have had a great time but the removal of the Confederate monuments
would have tainted our visit. When is the ridiculousness going to end.

    The removal of these monuments illustrates a major problem in America today.The issue of political correctness like a violation of the 1st amendment is making things worse.

    Were this symbol being removed a likeness of Adolf Hitler or other failed tyrant OK. However we are removing a important part of the American experience.

    They don't remove monuments, rename buildings, & re-write history because they are Democrats, they do it because they are communists & fascists.

    It makes me feel like I live in Russia.

    Such a sad state of affairs with all of this!

    The cemeteries around this country are sacred and privately funded as well.

    If they go after those monuments they will be dealing with another side of the coin that shoots back!

    I sure hope that those historic artifacts do not get destroyed and find their way into the hands of the caring majority of this nation.
