me and the wife got the pleasure of visiting this home a few years back to buy some furniture the owner had listed on that one guys list, a complete 1930's waterfall set allegedly belonging to a saint louis gangster {we still got it cheap}

anyway we got a first class tour of this home from top to bottom, walls where 2' thick , interior walls as well, i mean every wall on the main floor, there where rooms with gun turret openings, roof is 1' thick steel{he was afraid of bombs}, there is a jail, chapel, and 5 adjacent homes with tunnels to the main home {you can see the access room in pic 19}, there was 2 bars and 2 huge stills one on each level, looks like they gutted the lower bar but it was huge and awesome handcrafted wood, the house is located about 75 yards from the big river, alleged to run liquor by boat to saint louis

house {the square footage is way under actual size}

    Interesting place. Gangsters were paranoid folk.

    very interesting, it is a shame the pictures do not do it justice at all

    also it is on a flood plane from the big river or i would break my neck to own it, very nice and actually cozy inside

    ...just because they were paranoid doesn't mean someone wasn't out to get 'em!

    Big ole windows without shutters? Michael Corleone made that mistake in his Tahoe house and it almost got him killed. [}:)] A couple of torpedos with choppers and his days of singing O sole mio would be over.

    That one picture of the room with the beds in stalls looked like where the hired help would rack out. Price was pretty cheap too consider there's probably hidden money, guns, or booze somewhere on the property.[:0]

    jelly roll... now thats a handle
    Although always described as a cowboy, Roswellnative generally acts as a righter of wrongs or bodyguard of some sort, where he excels thanks to his resourcefulness and incredible gun prowesses.

    the shutters where actually on the inside at one time with laminated glass of the day, they where still intact in the kitchen, the stalls are actually the third story dormers used for riflemen and look outs, the current owner is kinda squirly and i think its a flop house for all sorts hence the beds

    when we went their where several shady characters moving about the house, when you walk into the front entrance there is a huge sunporch then enter into very heavy double doors, very large and open room like a castle leading to the top bar room with the rooms you can see that are bricked with what looks line smooth cinder block , even the interior walls are concrete in the bedrooms, bathroom etc

    i went in the tunnel entrance that led to the other homes, one tunnel went to the river it was really neat
