Moussaoui Says He Lied About 9/11 Involvement
Asks To Withdraw Guilty Plea
WASHINGTON -- Convicted Sept. 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui says he lied on the witness stand about being involved in the plot that destroyed the World Trade Center and wants to withdraw his guilty plea because he now believes he can get a fair trial.
In a motion filed Friday but released Monday, Moussaoui said he testified March 27 he was supposed to hijack a fifth plane on Sept. 11, 2001, and fly it into the White House "even though I knew that was a complete fabrication."
A federal court jury spared the 37-year-old Frenchman the death penalty last Wednesday. On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema gave him six life sentences, to run as two consecutive life terms, in the federal supermax prison at Florence, Colo.
At sentencing, she told Moussaoui: "You do not have a right to appeal your convictions, as was explained to you when you plead guilty" in April 2005. "You waived that right."
She said he could appeal his sentence but added, "I believe it would be an act of futility."
Moussaoui's court-appointed lawyers told the court they filed the motion even though a federal rule "prohibits a defendant from withdrawing a guilty plea after imposition of sentence." They did so anyway because of their "problematic relationship with Moussaoui" and the fact that new lawyers have yet to be appointed to replace them.

His dreams of being a martyr are shattered.
That is the funniest stuff that I've read in a very long time!
I think we should start making mousaoui jokes now. He's gone from "I'm Mousaoui the martyr" to just "I'm sowee".
Ben
As it is, "Welcome to Supermax, Moussaoui--enjoy your stay." [:D][:D]
Oops I Did It Again could be played in a loop. But, to be kind, it should be the extended remix dance version of it.
He will say anything ... remember, "I win and the USA looses!"?
Well, maybe he had his fingers crossed and did not mean anything he said! [V]
He is just a little ticked off because he doesn't get to be a martyr ... cry me a river!
Please bring us to the day that we no longer hear from him as promised. [:(!]
I wonder how the next 40 YEARS will go.
Hang tight Zach, we'll get back to ya about an appeal.[:D][;)][:(!]
Yeah, in about three years
Who?
?[:D]
Find a nice deserted island in shark infested waters, strand him there, and see how long he can survive a la Gilligan [;)]
(could also plant a bunch of cameras to keep the peons who watch "reality TV" entertained) [:D]
Ok, so he lied, he's not guilty. Then lets overturn his life sentence and convict him of perjury and put him in general population and see if maybe he wants to change his mind again.
X ring. [:D]

...supporting our terrorist brothers. And so posts Abdulaziz, a confessed traitor to the United States. He ought to be sitting next to Moussaoui holding hands, IMO.
Hey, lets all agree to check in on him in thirty years. This could be a terrific way to remember all the martyrs in a positive and affectionate way. We could make it an all day thing. I'll bring the hot dogs. I'm getting excited...can't wait...
p.s.
someone remeber to bring all 428 verses to * Bah Ya...we'll have a sing-a-long to remember ah,... what's-his-name.
Enjoy your stay *
